A/C CLUTCH DOES NOT ENGAGE, A/C NOT COOLING

A/C WAS COOLING FINE FOR MANY YEARS, THEN IN OCTOBER 2008 IT SLOWLY LOST ITS COOLING POWER. NOW IT BLOWS WITHOUT COOLING AT ALL. PUT GAUGE ON SYSTEM, PRESSURE WAS BELOW 15. COULD THIS BE A CLUTCH/COMPRESSOR PROBLEM, OR IS IT JUST A SIMPLE CASE OF HAVING SOMEONE RECHARGE THE SYSTEM AND CHECK FOR LEAKS SO THE SENSORS WILL ALLOW THE COMPRESSOR TO START WORKING AGAIN. HOPE YOU CAN HELP, IT GETS REAL HOT IN SOUTH TEXAS, EVEN IN THE SPRING TIME.

Save your self some money and just get the system evacuated & recharged, there is no point in putting a clutch in (IF) the system is keeping cool now. You never want to put a clutch in with out the compresor anyway.

Ford e-250 transmission problems

My Econoline 250 with 4.2 lost fluid from hose leak, fixed leak everything was normal for 3 days till I drove it on highway. When it went into overdrive lost forward power. Turned off OD and did ok for a while. Lost forward gears slowly, put in fluid, hard to tell when full. Reverse is fine but have to rev up engine to get forward to engage, then everything is fine at lights and such till take out of drive, then have to rev engine to about 2500rpm to engage drive. Help?

No electrical power to AC Compressor. The switch light comes on in car when AC power button is turned on.

  1. Check if air blows with the fan setting turned to high.
  2. Check that the radiator cooling fan engages when the A/C button is pressed.
  3. Locate the compressor.
  4. Turn on the A/C.
  5. Check if the compressor's clutch has been engaged.
  6. If the clutch engages, the fault is elsewhere.
  7. If the clutch does not engage, check for power to the clutch.
These steps might help find the problem.

2008 honda pilot a/c is not blowing cold air, blows hot air. bought truck in 2007.

the most common problem with honda and acura is the magnetic clutch failure on the compressor , test to see if you are getting power to the clutch assembly with the car runningand the A/C on max if you have power the compressure clutch is bad if you don't ck the compressure fuse and or the clutch relay.

I have a 2008 escape and the air conditioner stopped working. The clutch will not engage and I put a volt meter on the plug and I get nothing. I checked the fuses, relay and diode all appear ok. Is there a...

The clutch will not engage if it is low on freon. It has a high pressure switch and a low pressure switch which keeps the power from the compressor so no damage will happen. Have the freon checked.
