Yeh.. easy... usually a bad strut will make noise when going over bumps such as clunking, squeaking, knocking. also, pushing down on the corner of the car with the suspected bad strut should make the car feel 'soft'. Also, a bad strut usually is leaking hydraulic oil. If a faulty strut is suspected, have the dealership or mechanic diagnose and repair the problem.

could be a number of things. check your joints and bushings under car and also with hood raised place your knee on the bumper and bounce. pay attention to where the strut assembly attaches to the top, if there is alot of movement and you can here the noise then it will in fact be the strut
try not to kill yourself.
You need a spring compressor for this job.
Three nuts on top , two at nuckle , disconnect any brake hoses or wires attached to strut if present ,
If brake hose goes through the bracket on the strut , and there is no options but disconnect brake line , I usually cut bracket carefully the way I can split bracket and take hose out without disconnecting the brake line. But make sure that it cut really nice so you can put it back together with locking spring.
After that , take strut assy. out and COMPRESS THE SPRING (spring compressor) ,after-take center nut on top of the strut out and you done. Memorize the way (mark it) spring was sitting , and sequence
for the parts and put it back together .
Installation - opposit of removal.
those are sealed units and are intergrated with the wheel rotor if the bearings are bad they must be replaced and those are dealer only items. labor for each side is about 1 hour for remove and install per side. unfortunately there are no aftermarket parts available just yet. hope this helps
