No. Replace the gasket, likely service the head is needed.

On your '03 Mitsubishi lancer, if you have tried the other (cheaper) possible culprits, to no avail, you are pretty much left with replacing the fuel pump. On this model it is actually easier than you may think. There is an access point to the fuel pump under the rear seat on the driver side. Easy now, before getting gung-ho and just unhooking wiring harnesses and hoses, remember these lines are under pressure. Prior to locating the access port, turn your ignition to the on position and then proceed to locate the fuel pump relay. Remove the relay and either 1. Crank car and let it run until it cuts off or 2. Disconnect the fuel line under the hood to release the pressure in the line. Either way is sufficient but I prefer the "let-r-die" method myself. No proceed to removing the housing mount bolts, wiring harnesses and hoses. Instillation is the reverse of the removal. Once everything is secure and replaced(pump relay) turn the key to the on position and back about 4 or 5 times before cranking. Should purr like a kitten!

IM also adding the pump diagram as reference if any uncertainties arise. Hope this helps someone with their fuel issue!

Wiring diagrams are broken down into systems like lighting, engine etc. What system do you need a diagram for??

i had the same problem on my g/f's 2000 lancer GLXi, (with tacho),
i fixed the problem by putting a jump wire on the back of the instrument cluster,
the fault was in the wiring to the tacho part & i drew up my own wiring diagrams for the cluster unit,
then traced the fault,
looking @ the back of the cluster unit, the top right hand screw for the speedometer,,, follow the track on the circuit-board, there is a link wire UNDER the board (there is a dotted line on top where it goes, i think its the left 1,,, there is 2) this track then goes to the bottom left screw on the tacho,,,
i soldered a small gauge wire from the bottom of the link solder joint (MAKE SURE ITS THE CORRECT LINK, THERE IS 2 SIDE BY SIDE) to the bottom right track on the vertical plug socket (its common pos for the warning lights) this is where the "MIRAGE" & other "CE LANCER" (without tacho) gets its speedometer & gauges power from,

it's in the fuel tank, you really don't have to replace it unless you have problem with fuel pump.

You would need to ask a dealer on the specs or contact the car makers . Some thing they would know .

honestly no idea ,you would need some dealer only information and doubt they will tell you but do a shrewdy and ask in the stores what the difference is ..

most fluid tanks are located behind the drivers side bumper /fender area pump incorporated into tank but test switch and wiring also

Check the fuel pump fuses and pressure. Also check the coils

In 2003, the Lancer (or equivalent) was manufactured and sold with engine sizes of 1.3L, 1.5L, 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L, and 2.4L, depending on where it was manufactured or originally sold. Mitsubishi is an international manufacturer, you know.

Those pressures are OK and within specs. I would suspect the cooling issue lies with the air temperature control blend door actuator and or the blend door sticking in the ducting due to warpage.

It's usually a sway bar link and/or sway bar bushing. Disconnect it and try that for less noise before buying parts.

A couple of things to try, it may be that your car has an alarm that has been triggered, and the horn is the announcement indicating an 'attempted' theft. So you can try to find out if this is the case. If the battery has been drained sufficiently to 'confuse' the electronics, then one way I was able to work around this was to disconnect the main battery and wait a few mins, then reconnect it. The alarm may clear or trigger again. Sometimes by using your remote you can clear this condition or using your key in the driver side keyhole and going the steps (for my car it was to lock and unlock), for others it could be doing something like this in sequence. The last resort is to disconnect the horn. (of course then you have no horn and in New York City..this can be a real problem)..good luck
