I have a 2004 f250 cc 4x4 no mods. It will loose power the water in fuel light and the glow plug light come on, you lift off of the accelorator and it resets most of the time. I have ran several tanks with 911 diesel. I have changed the fuel filters, remove fuel tank and cleaned. It s better than it was but still loses power and the lights come on. Any ideas?

I use Power Service fuel additive with each fill up, that might help, and if there is any water in the fuel system, it will remove it.

SOURCE: f350 no start

I have a feeling you got a wholed of unleaded fuel or bad fuel
I drive a diesel box truck the station I always took it to the fuelman put unleaded in the diesal tanks and the truck just died it had to have the gas tank completed drained and cleaned out but also ask yourself how many miles are on it and when was last tune up and if you live in a cold climate I recommend a heater block plug

SOURCE: 04 f250 diesel cranks but won't start

this is an oil pressure problem, either a sensor is not sensing enough oil pressure, or the high pressure pump is not building enough pressure(possibly leaking or head is leaking). this engine requires 450 psi minimum oil pressure at the injectors to actuate the injectors.

SOURCE: I have a 2005 Ford F350 with a 6.0 Turbo Diesel

Most likely you have bad fuel . The 6.0 is very sensitive , It will continue to lose powrr until you get all the bad fuel out . I have changed 3 sets before

SOURCE: changed fuel filter. Now won't run

you are going to have to remove the fuel filter and reinstall it making sure that you have filled it with diesel fuel to eliminate as much air as possible.

6.0 2004 F-250 was starting hard when cold, replaced glow plugs &harness still starts hard runs rough, glow plug light stays on longer now though

time for replacement of or severe cleaning with fuelinjection cleaner..also if diesel, add cold start to the fuel system..check and replace oil filter type fuel filter since jelling of fuel may be a cold start issue..crack open an injector line and see if injector pump is pushing fuel really well..and see if air cleaner needs replaced blackened element is not good..good luck..

I just bought a 2004 F250 CC FX4 with 6.0 diesel..Blew the upper air intake off the turbo when I jumped on it. Why? Also hearing bad things about the egr cooler going bad a lot, and also the head gasket...

Maybe it over boosted due to an illegal chip in PCM.

PS. Pay meticulous attention to cooling system maintenance & use only distilled water to mix with anti freeze

Tried to start 2004 f250 with out glowplugs now it wont start. checked fuse still wont start

glow plug light and glow plug are not on same system
check at gow plug conection (top of valve cover both side
follow from relay front valve vover right side silver box)
power 12 volts on all 4 wires in both conector left and right
if not replace relay if 12 volts relay ok (test light clip on ground)
then check glow plug (test light clip on positive ) touch wires going
to glow plug should light up if ok (quick test ) if any fail replaced
if all seems ok look at the oil injection system most common
problem with these motors I have yet to replaced a glow plug or relay

WIF light comes on and off sporadically causing engine to idle down. drained HCFM? problm still comes and goes. this has been going on for quite some time. light does not stay on, ever. even glow plug...

Your engine should be the 6.0, where did you drain water from? The place to drain water is the fuel pump on the rail. The only way to get the water out is to remove the allen-head screw that you will see halfway down the electric fuel-pump, on the bottom-side. Let me know if that is what you see and how it went. Also if we are are talking about the same fuel system your fuel filter kit should include two fuel cartridge filters.

Glow plugs

to check the glow plugs you can use a scanner (snap-on) or you have to take the valve covers off, take a test light n hook it up to your positive post on battery, pull wire off glow plug, take test light to glow plug if it lights its good if it doesnt the plugs bad,as for the fuel leak it may be the lift pump in the valley or it can also be the vacum switch on the fuel filter housing
