Did you have red antifreeze prior to the flushing? Ford engines are generally aluminium and should be using blue antifreeze which is suitable for aluminium engine blocks! I think the antifreeze is reacting to the aluminium.....re flush and use blue!

The heater core could be clogged. If your antifreeze is orange , then it is Dexcool antifreeze which causes slime and sludge to build up in the cooling system. It can clog a heater core. My suggestion would be to drain and flush the entire cooling system with Prestone Super Flush. Put in a new thermostat while your at it. Refill the cooling system with a green antifreeze that is labeled compatible with aluminum engine parts and radiators.Do Not refill with Dexcool antifreeze.

its inside the heater box and need the whole dash taking out ,pull the two feed pipes off the heater and flush with a garden hose reversing direction of flow ,refill with antifreeze 100% neat ,then if still no joy put a piece of cardboard in front of rad to reduce the cold air flow through teh rad and engine compartment this should do the trick. dont beleave me watch ice road truckers and see what they do to their trucks to keep the temperature up .

try flushing cooling system could be a blocked heater core.if flushing doesnt work remove and replace heatercore.

Check your antifreeze it might be low.

Sounds like the problem has to be the valve is not opening and thus not allowing the hot coolant to enter the heater coil. Manualy open the valve (engine firewall) and see if heat is present. If this works check your cable from the dash switch as it isn't working the valve properly and needs replacing.

Did you have heat before the flush and refill? If you did, there is probably just air in the system. I'm not sure if you have a bleeder bolt for the cooling system. Is it running in the normal temp range according to the gauge? I would drive it until it reaches operating temp, watch the gauge carefully to make sure it doesn't overheat, park it, and check the level of coolant in the morning. You may just have to top it off then, and I think you should have heat.

The heater core may very well be plugged and in need of replacement. a repair centre can confirm that.
