In the inside of the surge tank is a float. When dirt gets on the rod that the float slides up and down on, it'll cause it to stick.

Coolent light stays on but not overheating

inside the top up tank there is a little float, I usually locate it and just work it up and down with a screwdriver, lots of times as the float can get stuck, failing this check the little sender unit under the said tank, but I must stress KEEP AN EYE ON TEMP GUAGE. This is a proper pain as I experience this often but used to it now, once a week when checking water level I just put screwdriver in and bounce the little float. hope this helps

Fiat palio overheating

Flush out coolent system, make sure your cooling fan for the engine is not faulty, replace waterpump and thermostat, fill with coolent, and im 99% sure you will not overheat as long as your coolent is topped off. Guarenteed!

Engine light won't go off have topped up coolent

Was it the check engine light or the Low Coolant error message?

If the former, likely an emissions problem - coolant is unlikely to solve that.

Have the OBD codes read at an auto parts store, proceed accordingly.

The Low Coolant light sometimes takes some time to reset.

You did refill / recheck it with the engine COLD, didn't you?

@aol.comI have already had my coolant system replaced. 1.5yrs. later my check coolant light comes on. What should I do. Try to refill?

there is a low coolet sensor in the overflow tank, you are just low on coolent just top it off the light will go out if the light comes back on have the system checked for a leak, there might be a very small leak that you might not be able to find and you will just have to add a little coolent every year or so...good luck

1998 Chevy Cavalier z24 2.4 low coolent

Smelling antifreeze from the coolent A !
Definitely a leak!
Hopefully not a head gasket leak!
Try warming it up without any accessories on until it gets good and hot, pop the hood and look all around!

94 grandam coolent light on

The coolant level sensor has failed. Sensors seem to be more prone to **** out than the systems they monitor.
