My heater fan won't turn off when car is off 88 Buick Lasabre?

My 1988 Buick Lasabre Heater fan won't turn off when I turn off the car. This is the fan for heat and defrost. I have to disconnect battery to shut off. I tried to take out fuse but stays on.

i have had the same problem with my 92 roadmaster and my 95 roadmaster, both with the automatic climate control. i, too, have had to go to a manual switch on the battery to keep it from running down, but the real problem is that the onboard computer loses its recent data and starts over again each time so this does not bode well for my next emission inspection.

I have a 97 lasabre and have the same problem. I went back to my dealer and they told me I needed to have my blower motor resister replaced, then I had jiffy tell me to check into a toggle switch. If this helps anyone awesome, let me know if anyone has any other ideas or ideas.

The silver plastic peace around the climate control pops off with a flat head screw driver then you will see the star bolts to unscrew hope this helps.

Follow up from the 1988 climate control with the fan motor that will not shut off. I replaced the heat an AC control and still have the fan motor staying on

I also removed the cover plate as was told by removing the small black trim around the control face. You then remove four screws that hold the control unit and Radio, then you will find the screws to remove the climate control or the radio.

Can anyone solve the fan staying on. Thanks Wally

NEED TO REPLACE THE HEATER FAN IN A 2003 BUICK LASABRE. PLEASE ADVISE IF FAN BLADE CAN BE REPLACED OR DO I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE BLOWER MOTOR & FAN? THIS IS THE INTERIOR FAN FOR HEATER AND AC.

the fan "blade" is a tubular rotating device that looks like a mouse treadmill. it can't go bad. if it is binding, free it. it is almost certainly the motor which will probably come with a new fan cage.

Buick LeSaber ignition will not turn off.

There is a pin on the ignition switch you can press that will release the switch for you to turn and pull out.

When I turn off my 1988 Buick Lasabre the heater fan stays on.

Check where the wiring goes into the fan motor itself. The power probably goes there first into a blower motor resister. If the resister is shot many times its the same symptoms your describing. If you dont know what it looks like you could stop at a auto parts store to see.

1986 buick lasabre heater fan workes, but no heat at all

could be a vacuum switch on the heater hose. The heater hoses are the small hoses ( 1inch, usually black or red) that run from the motor to the inside of the car. They should be warm when the car is up to temperature.

The vac switch controls the water flow to the heater core. If the vac valve is bad or the vac line that feeds it is bad it will not allow water to enter the heater core.

Could be a plugged heater core too.

Check the water level in the radiator as well. If the engine is low on water often the first to go is the heater.
