Engine dies when idle down, usually hard to restart

I have a 1994 Tercel. It has been getting sluggish on acceleration but seems to have a "catch spot" where it takes off. lately, it has been dying when i let it idle down. I can feather the gas pedal and keep it going and it seem ok on the highway. I did notice black on my rear bumper so I think its buring rich. I have replaced the ignition coil, wires, cap, rotor, and air filter, non of which has helped. Im wondering if it could be the map senser, o2 censer, or the igniter or something else.

Crank shaft very hard to turn by hand with belts off

Did you remove the spark plugs? If you're fighting the compression of the engine it'll be almost impossible to turn by hand. If what you're getting at is you think the engine is ceased, the temperature would probably have shot up while driving and the car would have become progressively more sluggish, requiring more and more accelerator pedal to maintain speed, until it died.

1993 Mustang 2.3L Trouhble(again); It's slugish at accelerating from a stop(some times falling on its face and dieing), jerks at highspeeds when trying to accelerate, and has hard starts. Any help

All the above problems were happening to my truck, and the engine light never did come on. Finally changed the O2 sensor, and it runs like new again.

Trouble starting, engine won't catch

Try pulling the engine coolant temp sensor, They often crack not sure why but the ceramic tip cracks makes the car hard to start, the car's idle may race while shifting gears, and often smokes. The sensor is on the right side of the engine when looking at it on the head. Easy to change and get too

95 maxima rough idle

The injector could definitely trigger a misfire code, but you also mentioned that you had a mass airflow sensor code , that code code be responsible for te sluggish moment of the vehicle and rpm going up and down. However if you have a misfire onCyl#6 and the coil and the plug is good the ONLY other thing to cause a mis-fire would be the injector. To check the injector get a NOID light, you can get one at almost any auto-parts place. To use unplug injector plug from the bad injector and connect it to NOID light the light should have a steady PULSE/ligt flickering. If light flickers fine then injector is bad and will need to be replaced. If light doesn't flicker or flickers intermittently then you may have a bad wiring to that injector. Check if wiring is good, then you may have a bad cam sensor or sensor gear. Good Luck and contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA
