Low trac light won't go off

My low trac light came off last week and I can't seem to locate how to turn it off

  • mtumomx2 Mar 05, 2009

2004 -Alero -- 'trac off' light, 'service vehicle soon' light and 'abs' light come on. We just had new wheel bearings and hubs put on both sides. Drove a couple of miles and all light popped on again. They (Muffler Man) said that it isn't in the hubs. They would have to take everything apart of find the problem. I see $$$$$. Can anyone help??

The reason the TRAC OFF light has come on is most likely because of a problem in the ABS system. When the ABS computer sees a problem, it will disable the traction system. There are several common causes for an ABS problem.

VSC Trac and VSC Off and Check Engine lights are on. The lights were reset last week and they have come back on. What is my problem most likely and what are the costs going to be?

The computer turns your traction control off when it sets the check engine light. Thats why VSC lights come on at the same time. Have the local parts store see what code you are getting to find the problem.

When I turn the steering wheel the low trac light

The steering wheel position, wheel speed sensors, and ABS systems are all used to provide traction control. You likely have a failure of one or more systems. Scan the ABS system and it will provide codes to help the diagnosis. Wheel speed sensors fail often, and it is likely one or more of these is contributing to the problem.

2004 Cavalier, Service light, ABS light, Trac Off light

Are you using a gel based battery?
Sounds like an overload on the charging system screwing the whole electronics of the car.
If not - get it diagnosed at a dealership.
Sorry.

Trac off and check engine light for lexus es 300 check engine & trac control off lights & engine stutters while revving in park. Engine seems fine in drive... Reset lights without them returning...

A week ago, on my Lexus ES 300 (2001), "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights came on. This coincided with me filling the gas tank to the brim to round the dollar to be paid. I cleaned the gas tank cap and the tank opening. However, both lights persisted. On the same day, when I turned on the car again, there was a hesitance, a stuttering to come on. Both "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights were still on.

The next day, the car wouldn't come on at all. It sounded as the battery was dead. I couldn't even jump start the car. So, I got a new battery from Costco ($59) and put it in. It took 15-20 seconds of cranking to get the car started. Once it was started, the engine sounded fine and the RPM normal. The "Check Engine" light was off. However, the "Trac Off" was still on. I cleaned the gas tank cap one more time.

The next morning, when I turned the car on, there was no problems. It came on instantly as it used to be, didn't have any warning lights, and drove smoothly.

Low trac light

I had the exact same problem with my 2004 Cavlier. I took it in and the dealer said it was a voltage problem with my speed regulator located in one of my wheel bases. I had it replaced under my extended warenty. I suguesst taking you car to a mechnanic as soon as possible, cause it could be that sensor, or an electrical issue all together. Especially if it is that sensor, since it effects your braking system, traction system, and the overall drivability of the car.
