It should be in your owners manual if it can be done. On some models there is a us-metric button for the display or you can go into settings in the computer and change it there.
As to special tools, a can of brake cleaner spray (must be meant for brake parts), a pair of big strong pliers, a wire brush, and a set of metric spanners.
It all depends on what type, some are bolts, some are torx type, and some are allen wrench type.
On the back pads you need a special tool to press in the piston, cause the back ones need to be turned in, not pressed in like the front. At any rate, the bolts are metric.
