Pontiac Vibe no cabin heat

I have a 2006 Vibe. Yesterday I noticed I had very little to no cabin heat. Fan runs ok. Temperature gauge goes up to halfway when the engine gets warm. I checked the liquid level in the radiator, it was a little low. So I added some 50/50 antifreeze. This morning after driving about 2 miles I turned on the heat and no hot air. After 40 miles still no heat. RPM 2500 When I got into the city, I flipped off the over drive. RPM 3500 to 3800. The heater started to put out hot air. The water pump and thermostat were replaced last year. I did have to add about a half-gallon of 50/50 antifreeze about 2 months ago. Any ideas? I am thinking a vacuum leak? Air lock? Possible thermostat stuck, possible heater core plugged?

Gas gauge and temp gauge and heater/ac fan dont work

Sounds like a fuse or an earth wire loose in the cabin. Take the fuses out and chk them in the light. Go thru all earth wires both in and outside the cabin, something is loose if not a fuse, remember fuses in the engine bay. cheers

Weird problem just started. Noticed the other day when I turned off the car, the fan continued to run for about another minute. Then, this morning, I was sitting in the car with it running and...

the first thing to try is turning the heater upto full heat(a/c off)if the temp guage goes down THEN CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT...(hot oil,if too hot, is thinner than the normal sae rating so the oil pressure will be lower.otherwise no real problem.

2007 Pontiac Vibe - Fan only works on high. I removed the cabin filter and checked the fan blower. It seemed not to be bound up.

The blower resistor has failed. It is located right next to the fan blower motor. It is located passenger side under dash.Check the pigtails to make sure no wires appear damaged.

2000 Pontiac Grand AM little heat being produced.

1st thing to do is change the thermostat. It is either missing, or stuck open (you provide good info). This is why the car is not running at operating temp and why you have little heat. The no blower for settings 1-4 probably means a bad switch.

When i drive the car the temperature is ok. When I switch off the engine the temperature increases to 3/4 of the gauge

This condition is not unusual. It is called heat soaking. When you turn off the engine or are not moving there is no air crossing the radiator. There is also no water circulation and the fans are not running. It is a normal condition. Good Luck

Where is the cabin air filter in a 2005 pontiac vibe?

Hi Ncrver,

The Cabin Air Filter is located inside of the glove compartment.

Best of luck,

Grand Am 4 cyl. Car - Fan does not turn on

there is no computer to turn the fan on. it works on a thermal switch. so you have a relay to the fan. when the temp sensor gets hot it connects the circuit to the relay and then the fan is on. vary simple. and it works when the car is still hot but the key has been turned off till the switch cools off or some have a timer so it does not run for ever. so good guess is the temp sensor for the fan could be bad if the fan is working.
