Does a kia rio diesel 56 plate need the timing belt changing or has it got a chain

My kia rio has done 92000 miles but hasnt had a timing belt changed does it need changing or does it have a timing chain

The engine which is made by Mercedes is not belt driven, it has a timing chain, timing chains never need to be replaced unless they fail or the engine is being rebuilt.

yes, this is VERY IMPORTANT, this is an interference engine, meaning the valves and the piston cannot be in the same place at the same time,or it will bend the valves.then you are looking at a major repair job,think or it as insurance on your engine. please rate my fix as i strive to be the best,questions,get back to me

I have a 1.5 CRDi which uses the Mercedes engine and has a cam chain not a belt
Check the owners manual the chain doesnt need replacing on any of the service intervals it only requires checking and retentioning

I have a 06 kia rio and its missing with almost a 100k miles would that be injectors or is their spark plugs that i could change i have had the timing belt and clutch and pressure plate changed

Change the plugs. It could be both to be honest but the spark plugs usually go first before a fuel injector. Check for vaccum leaks also. They can cause a decent miss. If you need anthing else, let me know. I am here to offer my asistance to you. Thank you very much for choosing FixYa.

Kia Rio from'03 timing belt repair

sounds about right. timimg belts are not replaced that frequently. I have a truck with over 80,000 miles, and haven't replaced the belt yet.
