Starting problems with my 1995 Cultass Ciera

My 1995 Cutlass Ciera won't start. Had the battery checked. I can feel the starter jump, but it acts like it's trying to start a seized engine. Didn't have any problems with starting before this began. Its a solid mechanical clunk, not a click like a faulty starter or connection.

Listen the motor could be full of antifreez from the manifold gasket set or manifold take the spark plugs out crank the motor over does antifreez whoosh out of sprak plug holes ? uh huh thought so google antifreez in cylinders and your model of car if you have to replace manifold get one you will need to flush the antifreez out or blow it out plus you can crack the starter if you keep trying to crank it if antifreeze is in cylinders

Try turning the engine using a socket on the crankshaft bolt. If it really hits something, it could be the timing chain has slipped or something else is broken inside the engine.

Sounds like it could be the fuel pump or injectors.

check to see if any spark on a plug from either cylinder if you do then check for fuel if no spark and lots of gas the tips of your plugs will be wet so you then know you got a coil or module problem or if no gas could be a relay or fuel pump just have to check it out .

Engine started to turn over real hard when starting on my 96 cutlass ciera

Check the battery first. Use a voltmeter-if it is not at least 12.6 volts or more, it is low on charge. Or if battery is over 3 years old, you may want to put in a new battery.

It is rare for the timing belt to jump a tooth and throw the timing off. If the battery is good, it could be a failing starter. Have it tested before replacing it. A parts store could also test your battery.

90' cutlass ciera 4 cylinder won't turn over

Could be a bad starter. Try tapping on it with a large screwdriver or hammer, then try starting. If it starts that time, bad starter.
If you know how to jump the starter solenoid to the starter motor, you could check starter operation. On the solenoid is a purple wire. Use a small screwdriver (key off, car in park) and bridge that post with the purple wire to the large battery terminal on the starter. If starter is good, it will start cranking the engine. If you just get another click, the starter is bad, assuming the battery cable connections are clean and tight.

It won't turn over

Try this procedure:
Check the battery like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.
If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
Check that the battery cable plus post, goes to the starter, Minus post to a good ground, like the engine.
If wiring is ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter.
Problem is most likely the Solenoid's bendix gear or starting relay, Have someone bang on the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging the bendix gear..
Hope this helps.

My car needs a jump every day ive checked the altenator and starter and they are fine what other option is it?

Bad battery. Sometimes they are strong enough to run, but can't hold a strong enough charge to start your car.

I was driving and the car cut off. It won't start but it cranks and won't turn over.It is a 1995 Olds Cutlass Ciera SL, 6 Cylinder.

your terminology is wrong.if it cranks its turning over what you mean is it won`t start(fire up) as you said at the beginning.anyways it sounds like you could have a fuel pump problem that stop working.this happens alot.you should check for spark at the plugs to make sure its not an ignition problem.did you notice a check engine light on when it was running.if so there will be a code in the ecm and may be the cause of your problem.
