I have a 97 dodge neon and it won't shift from 2nd into 3rd gear after the car gets to running temperature.

Check the vacuum modulator on the transmission for a cracked leaky vacuum hose.

Your problem could be the motor mounts. To check have your helper shift from drive to reverse with the engine at idle.

It's the tranny. Trust me on that,no cheap fix.

It seems in the manual transmissions the first gear to go is 3rd gear..
