My JBL radio #16833 for Toyota Highlander has no power?

I have a 2006 Toyota Highlander that came with a Toyota JBL Radio/CD Player. The model number is 16833. Today I turned on the radio and after 5-10 minutes, it just stopped working. No power. I found there are two fuses and checked them. They were OK. Are there more than two? What can I do to check the radio out?

The radio has burned out, no other explanation

  • Anonymous Feb 10, 2012

The radio has come back on several times but goes off again. A squirrel had cotton under my hood last summer and chewed my cabin filter. Could my wires be damaged also?

Well now that you have provided all the info on the problem yes the wires could be the issue, but I think it is doubtfull because the radio wiring is inside the truck cab.

Your vehicle has a three year ... 36000 mile warrantee on the sound system... "ENTUNE"

WHICH (OH-BY-THE-WAY)... has a ton of customer complaints against it...

My very best recommendation is to RUSH it back
to the dealer for warrantee work

Theradio/tape/cd no longer works. I confirmed that it has 12 volts to the connector. Is there an anti-theft code that shut it down when the voltage was interrupted during the battery change?

Sounds like it needs the code inputting, mine did the same. Now, what the code is?????
Maybe if you post the make and serial number on here someone may be able to help. It maybe written down in your manual etc.

How to remove audio system 6 disc JBL system in Toyota Rav4 2006

remove the cover in the center of the dash and there will be approx. 8 10mm bolts holding it take them out and undo the wiring harnesses in the back, you may also have to take out the temp controls underneath the radio, depends on the model

How to connect aftermarket radio into 2002 toyota camry JBL radio (the standart wiring doesn't work). Thanks

Your aftermarket radio should have color-coded wires which identifies power, ground, speakers, etc. most depaetment stores carry a radio harness adapter kit. This will connect to your radio's exact color coded wires, and will plug right in to your factory's wiring plug. And don't forget electrical tape.

I have an Highlander Limiter Hybrid with integrated Navi and 6 cd radio player.how can I listen the radio stations that has odd frequency ?

Hi it sounds like your vehicle was destined for the american market and it will only be tunng in 200Khz steps on the odd frquencies. Chances are the radio will either need to be replaced with one suitable for your county ( new replacement ($$) or secondhand equivalent from wrecker) Most toyota radios ran the same plugs on the basic wiring harness so most anything that fits the hole will work - you will most likely lose the nav function however

My kids put pennies in the cd player of my 2003 toyota highlander. now the radio won't even turn on

SORRY BUT THE RADIO MUST BE REMOVED AND SENT TO AREPAIR SHOP.
BUT FOR THE COST OF REPAIRING IT YOU MAY WANT TO HAVE A AFTER MARKET UNIT INSTALLED.
AND A NEW FACTORY ONE IS VERY EXPENSIVE.
