Ford focus overheating

My focus 1.6 is overheating. Temp gauge shows normal. Changed the t/stat but still the same. Checked the coolant pump from t/stat side and it seems to be turning on the inside of the engine but coolant does not seem to be circulating, also the radiator hoses seem to be different temps, top hose is hot, bottom hose (t/stat side) is barely warm. Any ideas?

Leaks seems to be on drivers side in front of the engine. Both top and bottom radiator hoses are dry. Does leak all the time

2000 acura tl coolant fan after fluid change

New thermostat, installed, saw, new coolant made a little mess filling reservoir, (normal) checked fan fuse for some reason, and condenser fan fuse (xxx ?:), and temp guage, is slightly lower on gauge (than normal?) (disconnected xxxx? quit? a bit? to get to thermosta?.t no dash warning lights have a feeling I popped a relay.

Answer:

ok, you did a coolant service with STAT,

and it failed.

tell us what works right and wrong, symptoms only.

over heating? parked, (fan never comes on)? as it hits 225F?

under heating? ( fan stuck on , up North can cause huge cold engine)

dash gauge stuck low. (thermostat wrong heat range 180f is best. see FSM for spec. on this temp. spec..

Dash guage varies.? oddly (air in system)?

Dash gauge too high.? (Stat put in upside-down or bleed hole (jiggle) not UP side. higher side of mount , trapping air.)

Does something wrong happen only driving?

leaks?

does cap on rad hold 12-14psi pressure, hot.?

if car has fan belts, are they tight? (for sure water pump does)

Engine temp

try skewing the engine coolant temperature sensor with a multi-meter and a temp vs resistance or voltage chart. the ect could be out of range and not set a code. also check actual engine temp with an infrared thermometer. hope this helps

Temp gauge was running at top end i changed

Is your coolant actually boiling? Is so, you may need a new water pump.

Overheating Express

is it acually getting hot or is it just the gauge on the dash saying so? a quality scan tool can show you what the coolant temp sensor is telling the pcm it may differ from the gauge.

1995 Ford Thunderbird Temp Gauge goes up when idling

Try to bleed the system. Also keep an eye on the coolant level. If it drops and you see no leaks the you could have a blown head gasket. Also replace the thermostat and hoses.
