Here's a better way. I replaced the gas pumps in both tanks by taking the tanks out from underneath, pain in the ***. Friend of mine comes by (after I'm finished of course), and says "why didn't you just take off the bed"? Six bolts, the tank filler hoses, and the side support bars, and presto! both tanks and the pumps are right there. Good luck.

Its not too bad a job , try to drain out the remaining fuel somehow to eliminate extra weight and chance of spilling fuel, remove filler tube connections that connect to the body , remove the straps that support the tank(s), lower tank(s) withhelp whenever possible, remove connecting wires to the float/fuel pump assembly, then replace with new tank in reverse matter, if have spare tire under tank just remove out of the way, also disconnect the battery to avoid any type of sparks when working around fuel fumes, actually not to hard of a job , just usually dirty and time consuming for the first time , also if you cant get the support straps to unbolt you can always cut them off and replace with new ones.

Is there an easy fix for a fuel gauge that shows empty when the tank is full

either your gas gauge is bad or the fuel level sender is bad. so is easy taking the dashboard out or dropping the gas tank out of the car? neither, generally it is the sender unit in the tank.

Windshield wiper fluid runs straight out of the reservoir. How do I fix this issue by myself?

Find out where its leaking from. A broken hose or a cracked tank. Find the leak and fix the leak. Have someone spray the washers as you look for the leak. Should be easy to spot and then repair....If it a cracked and leaking tank ....replace the tank???

1991 FORD F150 DUAL TANKS,GAS LEAKING OUT OF ONE TANK FROM ( GAS CAP )

Have the same truck and had the exact same problem. Mine spilled out the front tank. Ford did a recall on this problem. They put valves on the lines outside the tanks. Mine had already been done so that was not the problem. The pumps have valves inside for the return lines. I replaced the rear pump, didn't fix it. Replaced the front pump and Voila ... it was fixed. Bad valve in the front pump return line.

Gas is shooting from inside of gas tank over muffler, when you try and start dodge caravan

Sounds like one of the lines from the fuel pump is leaking. They come attached to the fuel filter. Replace the fuel filter.

Need to install fuel pump in 1991 pontiac firebird

Sorry. Got to drop the tank. Just break the gas tank bolts and replace them with new ones. If the straps are badly rusted, replace them, too. Look for tank leaks on the top of the tank. Replace the sock on the fuel pump.

Fuel leaking from top of gas tank

sounds like you are going to have to drop the tank out to inspect and fix. with luck it will be leaking from the fuel pump seal or the return line.
Bad luck would be if the tank is rusted out and needs to be replaced.
Syphon as much gas out of the tank as you can before you drop it , gas is heavy.

Monster fuel leak

if the gas is leaking from the top of the tank, 10 to 1 it's either the fuel line, or the top part of the sending unit which is probably made of plastic, is cracked where the fuel line connects to.The tank should be empty or near it, easier to drop, loosen the tank strap bolts towards the front, then remove the rear ones one at a time, as you take the last rear bolt out, the tank should drop a little. Becarful of the wire connection and fuel line, drop it slowly enough to reach in and disconnect them.If the unit has a plastic hose connection, it needs replacing. good luck.
