Had same problem, in the boot right hand side, behind the removable panel there is :
1 - a hydraulic reservoir which must be at correct level.
2 - a black box (stc) this controls the roof system,
switch ignition off then pull the 2 connectors off for 30sec then reconnect.
This worked and hope this resolves your problem

Sabb 93 convertible 2004 aero. When the rear window heater button is pushed a message comes up saying the roof is not secured properly and this results in the rear view heater not staying on. Also when the...

The first thing to check is the roof is actually secure. Somewhere there will likely be an electrical contact that makes and breaks when the roof is up. This will activate a circuit which will tell the computer the roof is up thus allowing certain operations to be executed (in this case the heated rear window). Over time these sorts of connections can corrode.

yes there is a manual winding mech. i think under around rear seats, thats where the relay and fues are for the auto roof, normally its quite easy to get the motors working on mech, you need multi meter , fuses and a psare relay.

2004 Saab 93 convertible top will not close; just happened in 80 degree weather. No longer under warranty. What's approx. cost?

Lubricate all parts on the top that pivot and check the fuse for a blown one. If the fuses are good then it may be a relay not sending power to the electric motor. Hope this helps. Good luck

Saab 93 convertible roof won't open

Your tonneau motor is probably bad, though reprogramming the limits may fix it. You will need the factory tool, unfortunately. There is a lot of information on this webpage. Be sure to read the information relating to updates on 1995 models.
