You have to remove the doghouse from inside the cab, the exhaust Y-pipe, the fan and fan shroud, then unbolt the engine mounts and jack the engine up. Once you have it jacked up, you can place small pieces of 2X4 lumber under the engine mounts to hold the engine up while you remove the jack and work on the oil pan.
You also will have to reach inside the oil pan and unbolt the oil pump and pick-up tube and let it drop into the pan (the pan will not clear the pump and pick-up tube).

Once this is done, you will have the wonderful task of sticking the pan back in there and getting the oil pump lined up with the oil pump drive and get the bolts started in. This is where you will need lots of patience. The oil pump drive rod will continuously fall out and !#$$ you off! You must also do this while trying not to lose your new oil pan gasket into the abyss. :)

One thing that helps is to put some very thick axle grease or dielectric grease on the end of the oil pump drive rod and stick it up into the distributor shaft before trying to put the pan under the engine. This will help hold the drive rod up so it won't keep falling out.

Good Luck!

as far as I know, you will have to remove engine to get enough clearance to remove the pan. the best is to get a haynes manual for your van, and go from there. the manuals are based on a complete teardown of vehicle. for around 25.00, is it rusted and leaking! many ford trucks and vans have this problem. good-day! and may god bless.

Ok I have a 1995 ford aspire im trying to figure out how to replace the oil pump

Disconnect the motor mounts and jack the engine to remove the oil pan. Remove the oil pan, replace the oil pump you'll find at the end of a pick up tube, replace the pump and put the pick up tube back on the new pump making sure it's in the same low position it was when removed, replace the oil pan gasket and put the oil pan back on, lower the engine and put the motor mount bolts back in. Put in the proper amount of oil and go.

How to fix a front leaky oil seal in a 1995 Toyota Camry LE

Three seals to check. easiest is the valve cover seal. Number and remove the 4 wires going into your spark plugs. remove 4 nuts holding the cover and replace seal.
Next easiest is the distributor O-ring. Remove air filter assembly remove the distributor cap, then the distributor. With the valve cover still off, loosen the 2 bolts that clamp the distributor down. Remove the 2 terminal leads going into the distributor (4 wire terminal/2 wire terminal) Mark the case of the distributor and the case of the head with one line so you can line it back up on reinstallation. remove the 3 bolts holding the distributor down. Replace O-ring. replace distributor, align, tighten the 2 bolts, then tighten the 3 bolts. replace terminal wiring and cap. replace air filter assembly. Replace valve cover with new gasket. Place spark plug wires back into their proper places. The last one is the oil pan gasket. Drain all oil and remove all blots holding the pan. drop the pan and replace the gasket. Put it all back into place. Do not over tighten the pan bolts as this will cause the gasket to deform, making it leak again.

My 97dodge intrepid is leaking oil and i want to know where is the oil pan?

Hi. You might need to Replace the oil pan gasket is the oil is leaking. Here's the procedure on how to Replace the oil pan gasket.

1. Jack up the front end of the car and slide a jack stand under the vehicle. Make sure the jack stand is securely in place, and then put blocks in front of the rear wheels to keep them from rolling.

2. Slide under the car and put a drain pan under the drain plug of the oil pan. Loosen the drain plug with a socket wrench and allow all of the old oil to drain into the pan. Remove the old oil filter.

3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the dipstick and its housing. Remove the collar on the rear of the oil pan. If the vehicle is equipped with engine oil cooler lines that lead to the oil pan, remove them as well, along with transmission oil cooler clips.

4. Remove the bolts holding the oil pan, and carefully remove the oil pan. Remove the old gasket. Scrape it with a putty knife if necessary, but be very careful not to scratch the surface.

5. Wipe out the oil pan with a clean cloth or paper towel, and wipe the joining surface of the oil pan with cleaning fluid or solvent. Apply a thin bead of automotive sealer and install the new gasket.

6. Replace the oil pan, tightening the bolts securely. Replace the transmission oil cooler clips, engine oil cooler lines, oil pan collar, dipstick housing and dipstick, and reconnect the negative battery cable. Install a new oil filter.

7. Take the car off the jack stand and fill the engine with the appropriate amount of SAE 10W-30 or SAE 5W-30.

All the best!

My 1995 ford is leaking transmission oil but i just fixed the front transmission seal in june whats wrong with it

where is it leaking from now / get it real clean and let it dry then crawl under it and look for drips / no drips then start engine and watch for leaks if you cant tell where it's coming from try with it clean , throw flour at it , any leaks will make the flour wet and you'll see where it's leaking from . the speedo ? the pan gasket ? the end seals ? the breather ? the lines ?
you want to save money , get under it and find the leak then do your fix

Can you replace an oil pan gasket on a 1995 Ford F150 4.9L V6 by just removing the bolts and resting it on the crossmember? I have an oil pan leak with the gasket pushed out just below the oil filter. Also...

my opinion is to do an oil change while you are at it to save some stress. draining the old oil will help from having to hold the pan full of oil and tipping it over, etc. then simply take off the bolts, which should be anywhere from8-12 or so. make sure you clean both sides of the pan. the lip and the side thats on the block. place the new gasket on the pan and put four nuts [corners are best] finger tight. then insert the rest of the bolts and make sure you dont over torque!!!

Do i need to drop the oil pan to ghange the timing cover gasket on a 95 ford mustang v6?

You can pull the motor mounts bolts and jack the motor up alittle, that will give you enough clearance to drop your oil pan. If you try and replace the timing chain cover without dropping the oil pan, you will more than likely wind up with an oil leak.

You should be able to replace the timing cover without removing the oil pan. The gasket set should contain gaskets allowing you to cut the oil pan gasket and put in a new partial gasket in this area. In the corners make sure you use some RTV sealant. If you are careful, it can be done. Like Bob A says you can end up with a oil leak without dropping the pan (unless you clean up the area and properly apply the RTV and gasket). If you have time to drop the oil pan, then I would do that.

Ford econoline 350 87 i need to change

the only difficult part is catching all the fluid, i would recommend doing the filter while your at it it is extremly easy, if you can change your oil you can do a filter and a gasket,
one recomendation though put the bolts through the holes in the pan and through and the gasket before you put the pan on the gasket will hold the bolts in place and you wont have to try and line up the rubber gasket to the holes lying upside down under your van

no they dont make a partial gasket kit... unless youve damaged the oil pan gasket, the one that ison there should be fine... put some black silicone rtv sealant where the front cover and oil pan/ block meet. if youve damaged the gasket you have to drop the pan.
