ABS light is on & Trac off light is on. Transmission does not seem to be shifting with any problem. What should I look for?
Very likely a wheel speed sensor or one of the wires leading up to them. Very commonly, the sensors get dirty, at which point they may be cleaned or just have to be replaced.

I have a 2002 pontiac grand prix with a trac off light and service engine soon light on.Shut the vehicle off and would not start again.Found a crankshaft sensor was bad and a wire chaffed through by the AC accumulator.Total cost was 380.00
The trac off light can be occumpanied by an ABS light, or check engine light. The ABS or engine control module would need to be scanned first. Many codes will disable the traction control system.

Hey I had the same problem and had the codes cleared but the trac off light came back on and my tranny still shifts hard. I checked the IAT sensor and took the ground off to reset the computer, it work for a little bit, even the shifting was better, then the light came back on and the hard shifting came back also. Anyone with the right answer will have saved me tons of grief and headaches! PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!
My 02 SE 2.2L had a similar issue today. It shifted hard, then had no power when I pressed the gas with trac off and service engine light on came on. I figured it was a transmission as I coasted to a stop and fluid was rapidly coming out from under neath. Upon further inspection, it was water, and it was cool water. The car never stalled and did not over heat. The water was coming from an open port on the firewall. It would start but run choppy. When it cooled down by the time the tow truck driver got there, it started and moved like nothing was wrong. Did not do extensive driving. Just had ignition control module replaced about 2 weeks ago and its at the shop now. I will post what is the issue and the fix.

If you mean the IAT sensor (code p0113)was unplugged, then the codes will need to be cleared for the the trans to shift properly again.

2002 grand am with the trac off light comes on and automatic transmission shifts hard. After my mechanic and transmission shop replaced speed sendor and didn't fix the problem, they suggested to replace the body control module. This doesn't seem right. Any help?
my o3 was shifting hard and my iac { intake air control censor } was unpluged. and sometimes when it won't start after you sit their for a few minutes everyting comes on it will start and the trac off light stays on still working on this problem but the shift hard has soped since i found that iac sensor and pluged it up
