How do I turn the alarm off on my 1994 928 S4?

You have a bad connection most likely in the door(s) for the alarm circuit. You will have to remove the door panel on both doors and check the wiring for shorts and bad / corroded connection. Also, sometimes the door locks will not be synced between the two from doors. You will have to close the doors and lock/unlock them so that they both unlock at the same time. Search www.rennlist.com for further in depth answers on the 928.

Headlights don't come on

The first thing to check is if any fuses are blown. If all fuses look good, check the bulbs, if those look good, check to be sure there is power going to the headlights. If not, there is likely a wiring issue.

Fuel pump wont kick in

this may or may not help, Tim. I would try disconnecting the battery, just make sure if your radio is equipped with an anti-theft you have the code and know how to unlock it.

No power to fuel pump relay is making contact but

hello again
it is also posible that your ignition switch(the electrical part) is bad.
Try to move the key in the ignition while you check the power to the fuse or relay.

How to remove the front brake caliper on a 1984

this is a good one,as the brakes are straight out of a golf gti 16v,any golf handbook will do.(just undo the bleed nipple, then force the pistons back into the caliper, closing the nipple before you release pressure to stop any air getting in..then clamp the brake pipe.otherwise its just 2x bolts and a spring clip....

THE CAR TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP OUT OF GEAR AT LOW

This one does not get better with time.

RECOMENDATION: Sight unseen.

Transmission has run low on oil and burned the synchroniser.

Don't keep driving all the metal particles are floating in the remaining oil and this will destroy the remaining bearings in the transmission.

Get it to the shop sooner than later.

Hope this tip helps.

My a reg 928 manual. hard to find 2nd gear is this

Yes, synchros are bad in this box. Look how long the stick is. What were they thinking. Forget about trying to get it fixed. All the people who worked on them are dead now. Starvation. No one could afford to get them fixed, parts have to be blessed by the current **** pope, and the fix costs more than what the car is worth, and nobody cares.
