Auto or manual?
Sounds like the either the torque converter bolts have come loose or the torque tube bearings have colapsed.
Starter motor loose or severley worn out.
My husband is traveling and
there is a belt on the front of the engine that drives the various items like alternator, water pump, air conditioner and power steering pump-the power steering pump is the only accessory that has a reservior with a cap on it-look for it and turn the cap counter clockwise, it has a small dipstick on it. fill the reservior to the full level using the dipstick.

Sunroofs have to slide in a channel and if anything gets stuck in there, even felt, it can cease to function.
Is your sunroof powered or manual?
If it is powered, I would look for a fuse first. Then, if the fuse is alright and a test light says that you are getting power at the motor, then it's a bad motor or it's getting 'stuck' in the channel.
Look above and below it as the button operates the powered sunroof, if so equipped in your 928s4 Porsche.
Nice car.
Good luck on repairing these problems.
928s4 speedo stooped working
First thing to do is check the speedometer cable and make sure it is completely installed and fastened. Next, check and replace the instrument cluster fuse located inside the fuse box, it may be burned out. Hard shifting may be caused by low transmission fluid so check that out and add fluid, it may be low
My 928 GT
Let me give you my heart felt feelings of sadness for you. I love the 928's. They are positively one fo the best touring / GT cars ever produced. But they have a huge failing, the electrical system. I worked for Porsche for 15 years and I have seen some wild S**T in those electrical systems. Why Porsche decided to put the fuse / relay panel right below a huge hole in the cowl that will, someday leak, is beyond me. The 928 is the most expensive Porsche to own now. You know just try to find parts and when you do they are gold. As a mechanic I had to finally sell my 928 GT S4 because I could not keep it. But I can keep my Lotus Esprit S4 and Hummer H1 because the 2 of them did not cost as much to keep.
Doing a 'top end' cleaning, if this is shampooing will always be a good thing. Also if there was a crack in the intake after the MAF sensor (thing with screen) the previous owner whould have to have the diaphram adjusted (little hole in the middle of the octipuss) to compensate. This takes a special, very long allen on a swivel end to adjust. Again this has to be done be a qualified mechanic.
Unfortunately without having my hands on the car I really have to say get it to a qualified person and leave it there. A true "friend of Porsche" will work with you and try to keep costs down by working on it in down time. There are a lot of prople that dont know the 928 find an old time Porsche guy that just loves the cars. Good luck.
My 930 1976 have too
The vacuum may not seem strong enough, but most likely is,the check valve at the booster assures that the vacuum is stored in the booster,so it has enough vacuum to operate correctly. The problem will be the booster,or,the brakes themselves are not stopping the car.Remember, the vehicle has abs also, and the abs will not allow the car to stop to sudden in the first place, but I would have the brake liners, and rotors checked out first, before replacing the booster. Now,if the brake pedal is just plain hard, then it is likely the booster.I hope this was helpful,if so,please let us know, thank you.
My head lights work but don't pop up on my 1981 porsche 928
There are two relays in the fuse panel under the front of the passenger footwell mat...board...also there are fuses for the headlamp motors there as well....there should also be a key indicating which fuse is which. And which relay is responsible for headlamp motor operation...I think it is the large on all the way to the right....wiggle while you have the headlamps turned to ON position...see if they pop up.....let me know how it goes...The headlamp relay is problematic on that model.
