Fuse for cigarette lighter

The fuse you are looking for is in the fuse panel located inside the vehicle in the number 14 position and should be a 15 amp fuse (see pictures below). This should be in your owners manual if you have one. If you do not and would like a copy, you can email me at [email protected] with your make, model and year and I will be happy to email you a copy. Hope this helps.....3_23_2012_10_07_58_am.jpg3_23_2012_10_08_15_am.jpg

My 1996 continental has been sitting for about a year and now wont start. How do I reset the computer system to get the electronic fuel pumps to working? We are obviously not getting fuel to the car

The fuel pump passed. It developed corrosion and went out.You may be able to revive it by having some one hit the gas tank as they crank the engine.

Blowsfusestopligths

Check your brake light sockets and wires to see if they are corroded or wires exposed. Also look at the brake light sensor that is mounted on the brake pedal arm.

Lincoln con wont stay started new batt new alt

The harness from the battery to the alternator may be damaged or the harness form the firewall to the alternator may be damaged. Check fusible links by applying a gentle but firm tension on them- if they pull apart, they have failed. The area to check closest for damage is anywhere the harness goes over a sharp corner. If equipped with an aftermarket alarm, or aftermarket stereo system- disconnect the alarm for now, and verify the stereo or other radio is attached to a switched accesory wire. If they are on a constant power source wire, they will run a battery down fast. as fast as a day or even part of a day if quiescent current draw is great enough.

I bought a 96 lincoln continental a month ago and

The Continental has an "air ride system" from the factory.
Remember air shocks from the past to raise the back and stuff those huge tires in? Sorta' like that.
Either a hole has been worn in a hose or one of the bags.
It's a common prob. with the Lincolns.
Grab a chair, sit down, click this link and find what's in reality a less expensive fix IF you decide to replace the entire system.... (Click on "replace the entire system")
Keep in mind your's can probably be repaired, but it's getting old and those rubber air bags under neath are getting old and fragle....

How to change the turn signal switch on a 1996

Ford motor uses a all in one unit for the signal switch, wiper control, and high beam. The column is covered by a two piece plastic assembly which has screws holding it together from under side of housing which have to be removed to seperate the two halves(top and bottom). The switch is then anchor with screws to the steering column and simple harness plug for the electrical which is one of the easy things ford ever came up with. Good luck

Just put a new compressor

when you installed the compressor you need to install new dryer and orrifice tube. when you recharge the system you need to put it under vacuum for 30 min. and recharge with proper amount of refrigerant and oil. also feel the lines and look for frost, if there is any excessive amount of frost then there is a restriction in that area
