If the seat is power, you may want to check the fuse first. You can find the location in your owners manual. If the fuse is good, you may have a bad seat motor. That should be taken care of by someone familiar with power seat carriage replacement.
2000 Continental. No problems at
While the VDM is a possibility, I would take a long look at the condition of the wiring and make sure no varmits have used any of your electrical insulation off you wires to make nests!
I have a Termix backhoe that ran fine all last summer and fall. When I covered it up for the winter, everything was winterized and ready for the winter. When I pulled the tarp of of it this spring, squirrels and field mice had eaten the insulation of most of the wires; and had eaten the rubber coating off the hydraulic lines.
Since your Continental sat for several weeks, I would take a close look at everything before running out to buy replacement parts.

Before an approach is even attempted, a code reader needs to be connected to the vehicle, and checked fro a trouble code that I'm sure the system has stored in memory. This light could be due to manya many issues with the ride control system, and without checking for a code to at least start an affect diagnostic approach, would almost be impossible or spend a lot of time trying to guess the cause. Has the system been checked for codes?
Window washer does not work
There is a small motor that went bad that is connected from the washer fluid container where you put the washer into it and needs to be replaced.
The car will start but
There are many things that can cause an engine to start, then immediately die. Your description however, seems to point to the fuel system. The first thing I would recommend is to check the fuel pressure at the injector rail. There may not be enough pressure to keep it running. It is likely that you may have to replace your fuel pump.
Before replacing anything, make sure it HAS fuel. I don't mean this badly, but I had a customer just last week that called my shop 3 times asking questions about his car. He ended up paying big bucks to have it towed in, (30 miles) only to find out the car was out of gas!
Another possibility is that if this has happened shortly after filling the tank, you may have gotten some bad gas.
I also had another customer that filled his tank with E-85. It was a few cents per gallon cheaper and it seemed that using this renewable resource was the "green" thing to do. The problem is that his car was not equipped with a flex-fuel engine and could not run on 85% methanol. This had the same symptoms you are describing. It would make the initial start, but would not stay running.
Power sterring whining, pump?
Yes the pump is the problem and is a VERY common problem in all models using this pump design. I have replaced dozens of them over the years I worked for a Ford dealer.

It sounds like it just isn't reading the cd's correctly.
It seems the loading mechanism is malfunction and the CD is not loaded to the reader so the unit thinks the magazine is empty. When you get this error message again, you could open the CD door (don't take out the magazine) and see whether any CD is loaded to the reader.
I would say get some compressed air and blow out the changer.
Hope this helps.
Battery keeps draining while im
there is a fuse for the alternator not sure where is on your car, but i had the same problem on an old vehicle of mine and there was a fuse under the box that holds the air filter. my best suggestion would be to look up a armature service shop in the phone book and ask them. this is number of the one i use in memphis, tn (901)372-0620. they are very good at what they do, and are usually very forth coming with info. good luck
After locking my car, the
The problem is in the keypad assembly. It causes the interior lights to come on and off and can drain the battery. This also causes the doors to lock and unlock without driver input. The keypads on this model usually go out if someone is playing with it or trying to discover the unlock combination. If you don't need to use the keypad for entry or access to the trunk you can disconnect the keypad and you won't experience the above mentioned problems.
