Sometimes goes into limp mode when trying to

Something is wrong in the gearbox, most likely in the torque converter. The first thing you should do is to do a full service of the gearbox - flush it, replace the oil filter and add a high quality transmission oil and even a good additive. If the problem reappears then the car must be tested on a dyne as to cause the appearance of the problem with the car tied to diagnostic equipment. The error codes will give a much more precise diagnostic.

Jaguar x type estate 2.0 diesel - whining noise

Hi.

The problem is the assisted steering belt.

The belt is worn and makes high pitched noise when steering because it has lost adherence with the power steering pump pulley.

Have the assisted steering belt replaced.

Regards.

Ginko.

How can replace brakes pad on jaguar 2006

If your car has antilock brakes, changing the pads is a bit different than what most people are used to. With a normal (non-ABS) car, you just unbolt the caliper, press apart the old pads to retract the piston, then replace the pads. This procedure forces much of the brake fluid out of the caliper and back into the master cylinder. The fluid is put back once you step on the brakes.

With an ABS car, you CAN'T force the fluid back; if you do you'll damage the ABS valve body (£800). Instead, you must open the caliper bleed screw and drain the excess fluid out of the caliper while you press the piston back into the bore. This is very important! If you force the dirty, water-contaminated fluid back through the relatively fragile valve body, you'll ruin it.

Also, did you know that you are supposed to replace all of the brake fluid in an ABS car once each year? That's different from older-style cars too.

I have hit the kerb with my front wheels in the

Worst case scenario is a bent chassis but that is unlikely. More likely will be a bent lower control arm. This cannot be repaired but it is easily replaced. If nothing else is bent, it will need wheels to be aligned and you are away again. Whole jod should take a couple of hours.

2006 JAGUAR X TYPE 30000 MILES

first thing is have the alignment checked also low profile tires look nice but you looose the comfort in the ride, you will feel everything in the road, the smaller the profile the worse the ride, to get some comfort you need good tires but will never get the smoth ride with low profile.the reving you would need to start by having the computer system scanned to find out why it revs, may be the throtlebody or the gas pedal sensor. hope this helps.

Hiccup when i excellerate, difficult starting

The first thing to do is to bring the to Auto Zone for a free computer trouble code check, they will provide you with a stored trouble code that will either give you the exact description of the problem, (example: bank one O2 sensor) or a small list of codes example PO133. These codes retrieved in this case with your cars problem,a general drivability issue, stalling and hesitation will point you in the right direction rather than guessing and possibly wasting money on sensors or parts you don't need. If I had to guess (which in this case any online mechanic would be doing in the absence of trouble codes) I would say it may be a MAF (mass air flow sensor) or an Oxygen sensor bank one. Bank one simply means the O2 sensor that is located before the catalytic converter on exhaust system, there is one located after the catalytic converter that functions only to confirm catalytic converter function is acceptable (bank 2) the O2 sensor that is located before the cat tells the computer how to regulate air fuel mixture ratios at cold starts through the electrical signals sent to the fuel injectors and also through normal driving or acceleration after warmed up. Retreive the codes for your car and act accordingly. Just because there is no check engine light does not neccessarily mean a hard code has not been stored. If no codes are present this may indicate a fuel delivery issue such as weak fuel pressure intermittently or perhaps a vacuum leak, check fuel pressure at fuel rail on top of motor (it should read a minum of 30 psi) and inspect all vacuum hoses for leaks or damage due to possible pests or rodent infutrations (evidence of mouses etc. I have seen damage from these rodents before if a car sits for a while they chew on wires and hoses).

2006 x type saloon demist function does not work

the demist function should be for the windscreen. the a/c should kick on and put out heat at the dash vents. the combination between the a/c and the heat allows the system to evaporate any moisture in the air allowing it to warm you and evaporate any moisture on the windscreen, and anywhere else they may have it duct to so that vision is not impaired. enjoy!

Cant find the towbar electrics plugs for x-type

I assume that the towbar didn't come with a proper wiring kit as, unfortunately there is not a specific connector for the towbar wiring on the x-type, the proper Vehicle Specific Kit plugs into the rear light. There is a power connector with three pins on the left and a grey reverse sensor cut out connector also on the left. but you will either need to use a Vehicle Specific Wiring kit (about £175) or use a bypass relay system.
