Steering wheel radio control not working
You most likely have a defective Combination switch (Also known as "Spiral Cable" or "Clockspring") The audio system uses pins 14, 18, and 17 of the combination switch to make conmection to the audio system. Pin 17 is the reference voltage in. A failure here, will cause ALL audio controls to malfunction at the same time. The cruise control uses Pins 19 & 20 of the combination switch....Totally different circuit. Just because this circuit is working, does not mean that the problem is not in the combination switch.

My power locks power windows and power drivers seat all quit working at the same time on my 2006 nissan altima. Checks all the fuses? Any help please we have rain moving in. If it could be a relay, wh
I have seen this common problem on several Altimas. You have a wire that has been pinched in your power seat that is frayed and grounding out on the seat frame causing the circuit breaker in the BCM to trip. U will need to remove the drivers seat from the car, Use a screwdriver to pop off the seat adjustment knobs, the pop off the plastic cover from the seat switch. There are two phillips head screws holding the switch to the seat. It is necessary to cut the seat material a small amount to access the screws and remove the switch. U will need to unplug the switch from the bottom side of the seat and unclip the wiring harness from the seat frame in order to remove the switch/wiring harness assembly. Once removed you will see the chafed wire. Simply cut the insulator that covers all the wires back far enough to repair the wire. I normally take a small piece of vacuum hose, split it down the middle and put over the chafed wire. Tape everything up with some electrical tape. When putting everything back together, re-route the wiring harness to a different location so it doesn't get pinched again. Re-install the seat and enjoy having all of your power options working again. If you need any more info on this or some helpful pics, let me know. Have a good day! ASE Certified Auto Tech Scott Day

How to replace driverside headlight replacement
I don't know how to replace the headlight replacement, but I can tell you how to replace the bulbs if that is what you want to know. It all depends on if your vehicle is equipped with halogen or xenon bulbs. I am posting instructions for both.1. Turn the headlamp bulb plastic cap counterclockwise to unlock and remove it2. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock and remove it (xenon)3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the bulb terminals (halogen)4. Unlock the retaining springs and remove the bulb5. Release the ignitor and remove from the plastic cap (xenon)6. Turn the high beam lamp socket counterclockwise to unlock and remove it.Installation is the reverse order of removal.

Car wont shift out of park
Car wont shift out of park, the most common reason for this is the brake light switch may be bad. have someone look at the brake lights as you step on the brake and see if they are working. the shifter release works off the power for the brake lights. if the brake light dont work then first check the fuses , if the fuses are good then you will need to check for power at the switch which is located at the top of brake pedal bracket, there will be wires connected to switch, the way it works is one wire will have power at all times and then when the brake pedal is pushed the power will flow through the switch to brake lights and also to shifter release, now if the power is not going through switch then replace the switch. another setup used is the tps sensor, im not sure but this year may use this setup, a bad throtle postion sensor will cause this problem as it thinks the gas pedal is pushed. this is a safety thing if the tps is out of range it will not allow the shifter to be moved, this would need to be checked with a scan tool to check the readings.

Gas filter for Nissan Altima2006
Like many late model cars the fuel system in this car doesn't use an in line filter anymore, this has been the case since the early 2000's, so there is no part number. The only filter in the system is the fine mess nylon screen at the intake to the fuel pump inside the gas tank.

Please help, I have a 2006 nissan altima bought
sound like you have a distributor that is going bad , the carnk sensor
is build into the distributor and sometimes when that gi bad it will
cause the car to stall but will not set a code A couple of things here. First, the distributor is probably bad.
Second, I would clean the throttle body and check the throttle position
sensor. I think the idle air control valve is dirty along with the
throttle body so I would clean them first and that should correct the
idle thing. The distributor should correct the bucking problem. Now,
make sure you have a fresh tuneup like plugs, wires, cap and fuel filter
along with a new PCV.

Where is t the vss in a nissan altima 2006
The speed sensor is also known as a revolution sensor by nissan as it counts the number of revolutions in the transmission. Below is a brief desciption of its function as well as a picture of its location for you. If you are getting a trouble code of P0720 (which is common in Altimas) I have found through experience that it was just a loose connection or dirt in the plug. If you have any questions on testing procedures, feel free to email me at
[email protected] and I will be happy to do what I can.
