it needs to have a matching program for the ecm and the immobiliser. A new key cut to the existing barrel/lock and programmed to the vehicle ecm will solve the problem. Even if you get a new barrel and key you will still have to have it reprogrammed to the ecm and immobiliser system

Well, there are numbers you could have used to get one at a salvage yard(still would have to be programmed). Since it is gone, you'll have to have the VIN off the car and go to a dealer with the car to have one put in.

auto stores sell a flexible tool with 2 or 3 claws on the end to do this type of chore. It has a plunger knob on the top end that opens and closes the claws.

You need to have the Car Scanned, thats the only way to truely know. I resently have been having a Temp sensor issue, but it could be Temp, O2, or Worse.. See your local mechanic and ask them to scan.. Typically no charge.

This code is available through any ford dealership. You have to bring in the unit and ownership of the vehicle. They will confirm it is not stolen then give you the code you need.

Whatever is causing it, the engine computer has sensed it from one of it's sensors. That's why the light is on. If you have the computer scanned for trouble codes-autozone and others do it for free-the code should point you in the direction of the problem. Close/wind up the window. Remove the inside door panel. Be careful with power window switch and door speaker wiring connectors. Disconnect them before pulling the door panel away. Remove any plastic covers that may be glued to the door. Have a look at the door handle from inside the door. You will have some idea as to how to remove it.
