Running very poorly with a tap or knock.

You need to have it scanned . Most auto part stores will do for you .if it is knocking the knock sensors retard the timing and that will cause a poor running car . Check your oil make sure it\'s full . I don\'t think you should drive it . Could be a bad oil pump!! Have oil pressure checked.

How many O2 censors in a 98 Maxima

In cars with EFI control there is a heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) before the cat converter and a ordinary oxygen sensor (O2S) after the cat convertor. so that means 1 of each on a 4 cylinder engine and 2 of each on a "V" engine . They are not interchangeable so a O2 sensor will not replace a HO2S sensor

Light keeps blinking

What light? Check engine light? Them go to your nearest auto parts store if it is a 92 and above then u can get your diagnostics ran by a lil system called obd2 they will give a code in which you can look up on line plus the meaning in plain terms. Now you can do it yourself via smart phone and Bluetooth , app, and a piece for around $14.If you have a 92 amd below it is a older system obd which auto styles generally no longer carry and is not generally obtainable. Bdcause of the separate key for each vehicle. You may have to pay mechanic $50 to run the diagnostic m there is also abs (anti lock brake system)... brakes self reinforcing on incline or unstable ground. srs (safety restraint system)..... seat belt, air bags. .etc..

Wont start after driving..

first see if its got a check engine light if it does that could be the answer to the problem. next if you mean you put the car in gear and rev the engine and it goes nowhere than the trans is either bad or the shift sensor is. i doubt its the coolant temp sensor a good test would be to just let the car idle for a half hour and see if the radiator fans come on. but like i said check the engine light first.
