1990 Ford LTD Crown Victoria - Page 2 Questions & Answers
1990 crown victoria had valve cover gaskets remove & replaced, and know my won't reverse good, & keeps cutting off
this is a combination of issues from whomever did the work..first, in order to remove the valve covers, all the hardware on top had to be removed, to include some vacuum equipment and hoses, and the shifter link arm on the drivers side of the firewall. if these hoses arent reconnected properly, the running of the car is effected, and if the shift link arm wasnt adjusted when reinstalled, it wont shift right at all.. if the folks who worked on it wont repair it for free(and you are allowed to watch them do it) then take your bill and the defunct car to another dealer garage who will make it right and charge the bill to the former garage..nothing gets my goat worse than someone who doesnt have a clue what they are doing to my car, thats why all my work is done by me, unless I cant do it myself..(which hasnt happened yet) if you know what you are doing, fixing the vacuum system hoses and such(using a diagram from the auto parts store,) will assist the running of the engine, the shifter adjust is eithewr up top on the steering column under the hood, or under the bottom at the transmission itself...put the car in park firmly and see where the shift arm(once loosened ) sets..adjust it to fit as its supposed to be and it should shift right with all gears present..good luck..
1990 Crown Vic over heating
engine thermostat is not mention the parts you changed, replace it.consider the head cylinder gasket, it causes overheats.a/c is another system, not a part of the system of first.
Air bag warning light flashes on my 90 crown vic.
The light is on because there is a problem with the air bag system. When the air bag light is on the system is not working and will not deploy in the event of an accident. When the air bag light is on the system has set a code in the computer a scanning device can retrieve the code. The code will give you a clue where the problem is.

I need the exact location of the neutral safety
Ford claims a special tool is required to pull the part, but as long as you can find a way to get it out without breaking it, success right? Anyway, If the open end of the bell housing is 12 o'clock and the output shaft is 6, the neutral start switch is located at 9 o'clock, just above the shift lever on the transmission housing.

How hard is it to change the heater core in my
No lie, it is a bit involved as it is buried deep in the dash, several pieces of the interior need to come out first. Here we go, I'll try to keep it as condensed as possible...It can help also if you have the wheels straight before you begin
1) disconnect the negative battery cable, wait a minute or two (precaution preventing airbag deploy)
2) drain the cooling system and disconnect the hoses from the inlet/outlet tubes of the core
3) plug the heater core tubes
4) remove the nuts that hold the left side of the plenum to the firewall (there should be three of them, under the wiper motor)
5) Remove one nut on upper left corner
6) disconnect the two vacuum lines and push them through to the passenger compartment
7) Take off the instrument panel trim moldings and the panel insulators
8) Remove the upper and lower steering column covers and disconnect the gearshift lever cable from the gearshift lever
9) Remove the steering column support brace, remove the bolts holding the steering column to the instrument panel and lower the steering column as far as it will go, and support it
10) Open the glove box, on the left side remove the bolts holding the instrument panel to the dash brace
11) Remove the left and right side cowl trim panels, remove the bolts on each side holding the instrument panel
12) Remove defroster grille
13) support the instrument panel and remove the instrument panel to cowl retaining screws
14) pull the instrument panel back as far as you can without disconnecting any wiring
15) remove the cross body brace
16) disconnect the wiring harness for the temperature blend/door actuator and disconnect the temperature control sensor tube from the evaporator case connector
17) disconnect the vacuum harness from the multiple vacuum connector (near the floor distribution duct)
18) Disconnect the vacuum hose from the outside/recirculating door vacuum motor
19) Remove the floor distribution duct
20) Remove the nuts along bottom edge of plenum
21) remove the plenum ensuring that all parts clear the dash panel (no snags or impromptu disconnects)
22) Once you have the assembly out, remove the screws holding the heater core cover and remove the core
In a nutshell, there it is. unfortunately, I do not know an easier way. This part is buried in there, not all cars are like this, but on the crown vic, it is.
Help been to auto store 3x looking for
It seems as though you are describing the radiator support bracket (metal pieces on each side that stabilize the radiator as well as the fan shroud) and the radiator mounting bolts
Been tryn to find bolt
THOSE SOUND LIKE HOOD ALIGNMENT BOLTS! YOU CAN RAISE, OR LOWER THEM TO ALIGN THE HOOD TO THE FENDERS!
