My 90 crown vic won't start. i have fuel to the
I would visually check for spark at the plugs, to make sure spark is getting to the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse.
How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes?
Fuelll pump
If you have confirmed that the fuel pump is good, change the fuel filter.
Its prob the pump or filter.
Replacing heater core in 98 crown vic
lots of these fasteners the car manufacturers use are pretty cheap..sometimes I use a special 90* set of wirecutters to cut through certain fasteners..they are like a pair of pliers but with a wirecutting head on them..sort of like a mini bolt cutter..in severe cases I have actually use an angle grinder to cut through it or a sawsall..depending on the room to work..which is usually very small..it may require two people for removal as one needs to be inside and one outside..sorry I wasnt much help here..
Cold Start Problem
older vehicles that have a breather/air filter on top of the carburetor. They have 2 sensors on the bottom of the air filter case that go to vacuum lines. replace the 2 sensors. They help for damp and or cold weather starting.
1990 Crown Vic LX Odometer does not work
I think the speedo head is probably good. You need to check the speedo cable and the gear at the end of the cable housing. If the gear is cupped in the center it is worn out. Replace the gear by the color code at your local Ford dealer. The other scenario would be that the gear on the output shaft is worn also. This would require the tailshaft be removed from the tranny and the nylon gear replaced on the output shaft. Good luck.
1990 crown victoria, no 3rd and 4th drive gear, should i repair @ $850.00
The question is can you replace the car for cost of trans mission and is their anything else wrong with this vehicle. mileage also comes into play so you can get an idea of what repairs are going to be down the road. This has to be a personal decision. On an older car things will break sooner or later I always try to buy the newest car I can afford with the least mileage and try to upgrade when possible
1990 crown victoria had valve cover gaskets remove & replaced, and know my won't reverse good, & keeps cutting off
this is a combination of issues from whomever did the work..first, in order to remove the valve covers, all the hardware on top had to be removed, to include some vacuum equipment and hoses, and the shifter link arm on the drivers side of the firewall. if these hoses arent reconnected properly, the running of the car is effected, and if the shift link arm wasnt adjusted when reinstalled, it wont shift right at all.. if the folks who worked on it wont repair it for free(and you are allowed to watch them do it) then take your bill and the defunct car to another dealer garage who will make it right and charge the bill to the former garage..nothing gets my goat worse than someone who doesnt have a clue what they are doing to my car, thats why all my work is done by me, unless I cant do it myself..(which hasnt happened yet) if you know what you are doing, fixing the vacuum system hoses and such(using a diagram from the auto parts store,) will assist the running of the engine, the shifter adjust is eithewr up top on the steering column under the hood, or under the bottom at the transmission itself...put the car in park firmly and see where the shift arm(once loosened ) sets..adjust it to fit as its supposed to be and it should shift right with all gears present..good luck..
1990 Crown Vic over heating
engine thermostat is not mention the parts you changed, replace it.consider the head cylinder gasket, it causes overheats.a/c is another system, not a part of the system of first.
Air bag warning light flashes on my 90 crown vic.
The light is on because there is a problem with the air bag system. When the air bag light is on the system is not working and will not deploy in the event of an accident. When the air bag light is on the system has set a code in the computer a scanning device can retrieve the code. The code will give you a clue where the problem is.
