I have no keys for my focus now ,it,s waiting at the dealer but keys are on back order,, I would like to completely disabled the anti theft so regular keys can be used,, no chip needed
yes its possible to disable the alarm immobiliser ,remove the ECU unit .then solder in a 12v supply from the on side of ignition, find a suitable connection in the wiring harness feed and solder to a switching transistor on the side of unit with a heat sink to the base connection of a transistor that controls the feed to another three transistors ,starter motor earth for relay, fuel pump earth relay, and ignition ,no relay and away you go location of transistors iam not saying as i dont wont the car theives reading it ,but its as easy as falling off a log when you know the colour of the wires, pin numbers and a magnifying glass soldering iron .took me hours to follow the the connections in the fuse box separating the two halves to follow circuit, tracing wires back to ECU then following printed circuit but i have done it .SO DEALERS EAT YOUR HEART OUT ANOTHER FOOD WITHOUT WORKING FOR IT JOB LOST .going to try it out on a dammed renault when i get time. Also sell the details over the internet ???? no i dont think so iam just glad i have pissed off the local dealers that wanted 200€

cannot change headlight bulb on 2001 y plate mondeo
Very easy, 2 or 3 minutes.
Remove radiator grille. 2 plastic fittings on top, quarter turn and lift out grille.
Remove complete headlight. Simply lift out 2 L shape retaining pins. Disconnect lead. Ease out complete headlamp unit.
Remove back of headlamp unit to access bulbs. Disconnect lead from bulb while bulb still held by clip. Then release clip to remove bulb.
Reverse process to fit.

ford focus reversing lights stopped working. It is not the bulbs, I have changed those
Probably sorted by now but in case anyone gets the same problem. Check all the red fuses in the main fuse box, not just the one the handbook says it should be. The main fuse box is behind the glove box...push in the sides and the gb will drop down....the fuse box is facing you.

does nissan or hyundai wheels fit a ford
Yes, Nissan and Hyundai wheels will fit a Ford. It depends on the size of the wheels and from what kind of Nissan or Hyundai you will be swapping from. The main thing is checking the bolt pattern(lug-nut pattern). I hope this helps in anyway.

how do i replace headlight bulb
Most of this solution for changing a headlamp on a ford focus sedan is taken from solution 2's writeup, accept with a few more details that should help changing the bulb assembly for the novice. Pop the hood. At the front of the car, look to the back of the
headlight assembly. There will be a plastic cover on the back. On some
models, you need to unscrew the plastic cap; on others, it just pops or
screws off.
Remove the plastic cover and then take note of the orientation of the three prong connector on the back of the bulb assembly. This is important because the replacement bulb assembly is going to have to be positioned in the same manner. By noting the orientation before taking out the old assembly, it will be easier to orient the replacement bulb assembly after removal.
There is a small retaining clip that surrounds and holds the
bulb in place. Removing the clip can be tricky. On my 2003 Ford Focus sedan,
there is a special place to push and release the clip that is above the
bulb - perhaps further above than you might think. Push the release clip and it will release the retaining clip from the bulb assembly. Gently pull the retaining clip down and out of the way of the bulb assembly. Pull the original bulb straight out. Remove the three prong connector from the bulb assembly. Connect the three prong connector to the replacement bulb and then orient the three prong connector as the original and push bulb assembly straight back into place. Jiggle the assembly slightly to seat it into the correct position in the headlamp housing and replace the retaining clip to hold the bulb in place. Replace the plastic cover on the back of the headlamp and replacement is complete.
No tools. 10 minutes.

Pushing the trunk release button inside the car will not pop the trunk. Nothing happens
So your trunk release button on the dash dpesn't seem to open the trunk.
Does your key fob button open the trunk? yes....then could be problem with switch but read on.
no......are your power door locks not working as well. not working.....check
fuse, on 2001 Focus the fuse is a 20amp number 63 on the back of the fuse panel under the dash. Pop cover off and undue the rwo screws. hold plastic retainers and pull off the fuse panel from metal frame. pull fuse panel down toand turn over so you can see the fuse.check fuse. blown? yes.......replace fuse with good one. test all door locks open/close then check fuse...if its blown the problem is something to do with the door lock circuits. if the fuse is still ok...try pushing the trunk open button. fuse still ok? then I am a loss toas to whats the problem but if the fiuse blew when trying the trunk button your problem is the trunk latch circuit.
Now if the trunk latch button is popping the fuse then disconnect wiring to
trunk latch (in trunk) and try the button again. Still blowing the it is the electrical before the trunk latch unit. If it did now blow the problem is something to do with the part of the circuit you disconnected.
How to go farther and find the problem exactly is not covered in this answer. You have to take it from here. JAG

When I start my car it makes a loud sound like something is bouncing around under the hood and light gray smoke comes out the exhausted. This happened all of the sudden. I was driving it fine early and it will barely stay on now. Help?
Hi Tracey P, sounds like you have a TERMINAL problem! If this noise and smoke symptoms came on suddenly while driving, and your performance is impaired, then I would suggest you might well have lost one cylinder dur to component failure. That might be a piston breaking up, a valve dropping or perhaps a combination of the two. I would seriously suggest that it's time to remove the cylinder head/s to check what exactly the problem is.

I am looking for the fuse that controls the heater and defroster fan.
Fuse info is located under the section called "Roadside Emergencies" in the owners manual. here is a link to a free download of the manual. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/01focog4e.pdf
