No immediate heat

Check the fluid level in your radiator reservoir. Mine was doing the same thing and I found mine was very low. Filled it up and the heat came on through.

My truck won't even turn over. I can jump it and it runs but when shut off it won't startagain

if it turns off as soon as you take of the jumper cables the problem is the charging system. it could be the alternator or relay or a fuse. and after that you need to charge the battery.

Overheating and antifreeze smell

If you are smelling antifreeze inside the truck, it could be the heater core. Feel the carpet on the passenger side. If its wet its the heater core. A blown hose under the hood is easy to spot. The only other things it could be is a water pump, thermosat, or radiator. If the water pump is bad it will leak through the weep hole on the underside of it.If no leaks anywhere, change the thermostat.

I have a 2005 nissan frontier that I changed the battery and now it starts but shakes and then sometimes starts

If it doesn't start every time I would double check for loose connections on the battery terminal. When it doesn't start, try wiggling the battery connections and try starting it again. Then you would want to fix the loose terminal connections. The spark plug gap does seem to be a bit big. I would just make a phone call to your local auto part store and they can tell you the exact gap that it should be.

Anti shift gear car wont come out of park

follow the steps . God bless youInstructions
    • 1 Start the engine. Press firmly on the brake while wiggling the shifter from side to side.
    • 2 Remove the console surrounding the shifter. It is usually very easy although you may need to use the screwdriver to lift an edge or remove a clip
    • 3 Look inside the shifter mechanism for any sticky substance. Often when drinks are spilled on the console they seep down into the shifter mechanism and make the interlock solenoid sticky, meaning that it sticks closed when you press the brake and the car won't come out of park.
    • 4 Remove any sticky substance with the alcohol. Start the engine, press the brake and try to move the shifter out of park. If it still does not move then there may be another issue with the interlock.
    • 5 Examine the shifter for a release button that will allow you to move the vehicle out of park so it can be taken to a repair shop. It is usually hidden under a small flap or cover that will have to be lifted with a small screwdriver.

Is there a way to check the timing chain without removing the cover ( this is quite a job) for a look at the timing marks

no way of doing so. need to remove cover. i have been doing this since 1996 and have never seen chain driven nissan jump timing. have seen some timing belt cars jump, but never chain driven engines. i think you have something else going on. i have done many and many timing chain jobs on frontiers and maximas, but not for a timing chain jumping issue. upper timing chain shoes wear out and engine gets noisy. i have to say i have seen some with the primary chain stretched a bit, but car still ran fine.
