Head bolt torque with new head bolts1. Torque all head bolts to 14 Ft Lbs in torque sequence.2. Tighten all head bolts 90 Degrees3. Fully loosen all head bolts in reverse sequence.4. Torque head bolts to 14 ft lbs in sequence.5. Tighten all 90 Degrees in sequence.6. check the fuses some gm models use the ground side for the switch also check for voltage at the light and the ground voltage

check emergency brake and wheel bearings

I had a simular problem on a mercedes and it turned out to be a blown blub. Check to see if all your bulbs are ok?

check the linkage on the transmission, i have heard of the shift cables breaking if there is a lot of weight against the parking pin such as parking on a hill without first applying the emergency brake before placing it in park.

The sending unit is part of the fuel pump assembly which is located inside the fuel tank, and is probably the culprit. The new fuel pump unit can be acquired for around $300. Replacing it, however, is a big job, even for an experienced mechanic. You have to remove the fuel tank from the vehicle to do this. There are a lot of lines and connectors that can easily be broken during the job. Most people with this issue just keep track of fuel purchases and watch the odometer.

injection system may have air in it dont know much about this model try cleaning spark plugs by warming them up on a gas cooker not to much just warm clean them and try that might just be damp plugs but it sounds to me that there could be an air blockage in system some ford models diesels are notorious for not starting when the run out if possible check to see if there is any way you can see if there is any fuel getting to carb of inj system

In the older cars, before all the emission laws added so much electronic garb, black smoke meant a fuel problem and grey smoke indicated a problem with internal engine parts like piston rings. Hope this helps.

Common problem here - - the air is directed by blend doors behind the dash - either by vac or electric motors.You could have a door sticking or the device that moves it may be faulty.Just about have to take the dash out to get to some of them. If you want to tackle it, I would recommend a shop manual first.Check your library
