sounds like fuel pump is good the floater may need replacing or the wire that reads the floater may be loose

Who replaced the ICM ? Check engine light on or flashing ? Without looking the vehicle over an doing some testing , would only be guessing as to what the problem is . Are wires hooked up correctly ? What's the fuel pressure ? Hooking up a scan tool that can view engine sensor data parameters should be done , checking for vacuum leaks , checking fuel trims - short & long term trims . Are the O2 sensors switching normally ? Why was the ICM replaced ? Didn't start an run ?

To collapse all the sensor and reset everything? If that's what you're after, you disconnect the battery and touch the battery cable-ends together for right close to a minute or so and that gives everything time to reset back to factory setting depending on what your actually trying to do. The shifter works off a shift cable which is connected to the transmission. The connection of this cable to the transmission is on the drivers side looking straight up were you can see it. The other end connects to the inner part of the shifting mechanisum where you shift

What about your security system? Is there a security lamp on the dash that is on or flashing when you try to start or after it stalls? If not, then the problem shouldn't be the security system. A misfire could be caused by fuel also, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Any applicable trouble codes? You need fuel--spark--compression at the proper time. Just my opinion.

have the fault codes read to confirm the mechanics diagnosis I am suspicious that the car runs hot, looses coolant but the mechanic did not do a compression test to check for head gasket/ cracked head problems From you statement ,I am thinking that the car has overheated , and blown a head gasket at no 5 cylinder

Which EVAP solenoid , vent or purge ? The purge is under the hood on the engine an the vent is under the vehicle near the EVAP charcoal canister an the fuel tank.

No ,there is not another valve . One low side service port an one high side service port . An only one A/C compressor . Under the hood in the engine compartment there are A/C lines going into the firewall . These go to the front Evaparator unit . With the vehicle running an A/C on do this line's (pipes) get cold ? If yes , your problem is probably the temp. actuator . Control's how hot or cold the air coming from the vent's get . If stuck half way , hot an cold air combine to make warm air . Replacing some of these actuators can require the dash to be removed . Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop .

Jason, as far as the fuel gage, try a couple of resisters at the wiring for fuel gage sending unit, in gas tank. It's two wires, use the resister inline between the two wires. One resister is for low fuel level, the other for high fuel, If the gage reacts properly to both resisters, the problem is the sending unit in the gas tank. You can try 40 ohm and 250 ohm resistors. I used to get resistors from radio shack, I don't know if they went bankrupt? The store in my community closed. Other places may have resisters?Just to add, the wire colors for sending unit/sensor are purple and black with white tracer.

Try cleaning the mass air flow sensor . Don't know what kind of mechanic you take it to , but i would try another one . Hooking up a scan tool an viewing engine sensor data while it's acting up , seeing which sensor is bad is the best way to find fix.
