there is a common problem with these cars it is called a lighting modual that very well could be the problem ..the proper way though is to check all the fuses first and make sure the bulbs are good

sounds like you have a bad ground in that circuit. check near the headlamps and along the fender for a black pigtail screwed to the core support or the fender. sometimes it gets damaged after a battery change or an accident.

If key fits in lock but does not turn, try spraying wd 40 with a straw into lock cylinder and sliding key in and out rapidly several times and then try turning key.

Blocked egr valve

You have a voltage regulator that regulates the battery charge. When you removed it you probably bypassed the voltage regulator and your car was running with too many volts and causing it to overheat.

are you losing horsepower or electrical power?

Check to see if you have spark.......also, check fuel pressure - you want to make sure your fuel pump is working.

steering wheel gets hard because there is no more power steering or brakes when the motor dies. Would suggest not driving it until you fix it. You didn't say if you are in a very cold area, but if you are, any moisture in the gas will cause problems. Use a gas line antifreeze and see if that helps. Keep your tank topped up.

You say it shuts off while driving ! or did it shut off an now it won't start again ! Yes it can, there are many parts around for a rebuild, even upgrade some parts, you can also rebuild your transmission too, even change gears. But you can also find used low mile engines around as well as a replacement , These are modular engines , Grand Marquis will work as well

What does all the way mean? Does the motor turn over at all & sound normal (cranking) ?

Most flasher units are located in the fuse block, but not absolutely sure on your model.

I have the same problem, but it does it when car is hot. My crown Victoria will start once cold.. Do u have the same problem? I first thought it was my transponder key but it wasn't.
