the first thing I would start with is looking for vaccume leaks. be sure to check your EGR valve, then move to your MAP sensor. The next thing that it could be is a stopped up catylic converter

I just change new radiator and radiator cap on 2000 nissan quest .go on freeway .and know temp gauge very high i stop the car wait and run again ,now see a gauge go high and drop down to normal ,wha

Make sure that the cooling system has the proper amount of antifreeze and that the fluid is full by checking and filling, if needed, by filling the reserve to the proper level. Then make sure that the cooling fans are coming on. Best test is to allow the engine to come up to operating temp while you observe the cooling fans. If they don't come on by the time the temp gauge is half way, try turning on the air conditioning to high. That should turn the fans on. If not check the cooling fan relay or module. Dan

My van wont start

There is pretty much only four things that can cause an engine to not start.> Starting system malfunction> Fuel system malfunction> Ignition system malfunction> Low or no compression due to an engine mechanical failureAll you have to do now is narrow the problem down to one of these categories and perform proper diagnosis to pinpoint the cause of the problem.

Po 141 02 sensor heater fault (bank 1 sensor 2)

OK, you have 2 Oxygen sensors on your vehicle. They are both mounted on your exhaust. You have one in front of the catalytic converter(Bank 1 - Sensor 1) / Then you have another after the catalytic converter (Bank 1 Sensor 2). Make sure they give you the correct Oxygen sensor at the parts store because they are different. Napa Part # DEN 2344701 for the DENSO one that is after the catalytic converter. You will see it sticking out of the exhaust pipe right after the catalytic converter - with wires and a plug. When you replace it, make sure you don't drop the new one, or get ANYTHING on the sensor Tip - there will be some anti-seize on the threads, make sure you don't wipe that off or get it on the sensor tip. You will need to have a 22mm wrench, or a 7/8 wrench which is a tad loose but works if you use it right - and they even make a deep socket with a slot in it for the wires just for Oxygen Sensors - I rarely use mine, because there never seems to be enough room for that socket. To loosen, bump the end of the wrench with your palm(wearing gloves) - or if you have a rubber hammer, you can tap the end of the wrench to loosen it. Applying steady pressure can cause issues, from rounding the edges of the bolt, to busting a knuckle - "bumping it" prevents all of that.
When you install the new one, be sure not to over tighten, snug will work great.

** Be sure to support your vehicle with properly rated jack stands, parking brake on, vehicle in park, and chock one tire - never rely on a hydraulic jack, or any jack for that matter.

If you need anything else, let me know.

Take care

SOMETIMES MY OIL LIGHT WILL COME ON AND I CAN HEAR THE LIFTERS KNOCKING AND THEN AT OTHER TIMES ITS FINE WHAT COULD BE CAUSING WHEN THE CAR HAS OIL

Hi, this i feel could be due to a sticky oil relief valve if the car is high milage( carbon buildup),or the oil and filter hasn't be changed regular. could be the wrong viscosity oil installed. worst sinario is the oil galeries are part blocked.this could lead to the engine camshaft seizing or the big ends giving up,both exspencive repairs.surgest proffesonal diagnosis/opinion is sort.

the engine is burning oil, the oil coming out of the exhaust pipe is a serious problem, it could be that the engine needs completely reconditioning or fit a reconditioned engine, you may be able to get an engine from a wrecking yard but it could be almost as bad as the one that you have......hope this helps.......cheers.

Dist noise

Got squeaky brakes, hey. Or is it chirping? Squeaky brakes are fairly common on vehicles that have all four wheels that are disk. Now, chirping is a different story, it could mean that you will need new disk pads and possible have the rotators turns and if the can't turn the rotators then they need to be replaced. Squeaky brakes, glazing on the pads, pad dust, little rocks, brake spiders, loose adjust spring, and many other possibilities. GB...stewbison
