Mneed to see the timing chain so that i can time
1 plug and check to see if it is fowled. This will show you what one looks like http://www.ehow.com/video_2326832_identify-bad-spark-plug.html and this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6A1keWQAeE is part of my training program at work for my new master techs to view and tested on before they are certified Also, if your car is shaking, your look at BAD TIMING which needs to be set by an auto shop so the vehicle stops shaking. The most cost efficient way to do this is to pay for the TIMING first see if that fixes the problem, then if not you change the spark plugs yourself as you never know what the auto shop will put inside your heads!!! Estimated fees if you want a shop to change your plugs in SC is about $200 for an 8 cylinder and fee for the timing is about $75. Are you also needing the timing "Mark" for this car"???
MY SPEED O METER WONT WORK IN MY 1997 NISSAN
Is the abs light on? It could be so many different things. Start with the basics. Check all your fuses. Check to make sure everything is plugged in on the back of the Instrument cluster. If the abs light is on than it may be a speed senser bad.
I have a 1998 nissan
have you replaced your drive belts?? i have seen a guy install the alternator belt the wrong way on the same model year vehicle and it would overheat in the bay after about 10-15 minutes at idle. the water pump was spinning backwards, not pushing coolant through the engine. its very easy to do that on your car and the belt will actually go on and tighten for you and it will all look ok, but its not.
also there is a bleed screw for the coolin system for you to loosen up before you refill the cooling system. if you drained the coolant to change those things that you changed, did you re-fill it properly?? you may have an air pocket in the system, but that should work its way out after a while, which will lower coolant level in the system, so you have to add coolant to top it off.
Code p 0304
you have a misfire on number 4 cylinder aka P0304 code stored. When did you replace the plugs last?? or done tune up to the vehicle??

How to replace fuel pump
Fuel pump is a complete assembly set inside the fuel tank. You'll need to drop the tank, (you might want to remove the gas FIRST) unplug the wiring, disconnect battery, all fuel, return, and vapor lines, etc. You should get someone experienced if this is your first time. It's a big job.
My car just die on
there are many reasons why it quit! but if light is on dash. have it scanned to find problem code. but a bad crank sensor will cause this, it controls timing. if no scanner, you can go to any auto parts store and they will scan for free. if light is on!! see if it the fuel pump first. have a good day !!
How to replace a timing chain on a 97 nisson
Timing chains are very difficult, even for experienced mechanics. Your local auto parts store should sell repair manuals for about $30 that will guide you through the process if you insist on doing it yourself. There are specialty tools, that you will also need to do the job properly.
Where is located tps in altima 97
1997 Nissan/Datsun Altima 2.4L SFI DOHC 4cyl: the Throttle Position (TP) sensor
is a potentiometer. It is mounted on the side of the throttle body and
is connected to the throttle plate shaft. The sensor monitors throttle
plate movement and position, and transmits an appropriate electrical
signal to the ECM. These signals are used by the ECM to adjust the
air/fuel mixture and spark timing according to engine load. The TP
sensor is adjustable on some models.
Automatic
transaxle/transmission TP sensors contain position switches. These
switches provide a signal to the ECM when the engine is at idle and wide
open throttle.
Hope helps (remmeber to rate and comment this).
Check engine light came on codes are
OK THIS A SITUATION. THE P0100 IS A MASS AIR FLOW PROBLEM. THE P0325 IS A KNOCK SENSOR MALFUNCTION. AND THE P0733 IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I DONT KNOW IF U HAVE A TRUST WORTHY MECHANIC BUT FOR THESE THREE FIXES U NEED ONE ESPECIALLY IF U ARE NOT CAPABLE OF THIS WORK. THESE PROBLEMS WILL CAUSE U POOR PERFORMANCE AND A HEADACHE. THESE PROBLEMS DEFINITELY NEED TO BE HANDLED ASAP!
1997 altma codes p0304,p0325
p0304 misfire on cylinder #4
p0325 knock sensor circuit
Could be a bad wire, plug, or coil pack on cylinder #4 (or bad distributor connection).
Knock sensor indicates a knock coming from the engine, perhaps from cylinder #4.
This may lead to a diagnosis if you change parts related to cylinder #4.
Good luck.
When someone unplugged my idol air control valve
there is supposed to be a vacuum line between the transmission and the engine that tells the gearbox about load. when its disconected the gearbox will shift hard and the engine will idle lumpy. Find the hose and reconect it and your problems will go away.
My Nissan Altima 97's Emergency brake light and
Battery light means the alternator is not charging so if you keep driving it eventually the battery will die. The brake light may be on if the emergency brake lever is pulled even a little bit.
