Thanks for choosing FixYa. Your coolant runs through the motor and it may be leaking from there. It is hard to know for sure because it is inside the motor. You can check all your hoses and make sure they are on all the way and the clamps are tight. Check your hoses and make sure they are not damaged. Also, you need to make sure none is in the oil. With it leaking there, it could end up in the oil. To know for sure, if it is coming from the engine, you will have to get inside it. Make sure it is not leaking from the cap as well. If you have any questions, just let me know and thanks for using FixYa.

Installing pushrods:
1. Coat the ends with a pre lube
2. The intake push rods are marked with a yellow stripe and are 5 3/4 inch long
3. The exhaust push rods are marked with a green stripe and are 6 inch long
4. Ensure pushrods seat in the lifter correctly.
If you need more information please let me know.

Need a trans. gasket kit
what i do is buy both of them, the pans are different and you just take the one you didnt use back and you have no trips to the parts store and pick up a case of trans fluid youll need at least 8 quarts.
Where do the sort and long push rods go what order
Hi,
This order doesn't really matter with push rods as they are all the same length and won't make much of a difference if they aren't back in the same valve guides.
So it is ok if you mix them up.
Thanks
Jason

When the security light keeps
this car has what we call a VAT's key security system. the most common problem with this system is that the resistor that is in the key looses it's resistance value and the security system no longer accepts it. as a locksmith I run into this very often and the fix is very simple but needs to be done by a locksmith or a mechanic that knows what they are doing.
the fix requires the teardown of the steering column and fitting ( hard wire ) of a resistor with the correct value directly to the ignition switch itself,, this basically bypasses the key security part of the system and from that point on you will be able to use just a regular ignition key ( flat key NONE VAT's key ) which will save you a lot of money in time when getting copies made, ( regular keys cost about $2.75 -- VAT's keys cost around $29.95 per key ).
seek out a local automotive locksmith or mechanic and tell him what you would like to have done and for about 85 dollars this fix can be done ( the cost of the resistor is about 5 dollars ).
this will solve your problem.

Hello ecav.
You did not mention which engine your Achieva is equipped with so I have sent you both.
This first one is for the 4 cylinder.
And this one for the 3.1 liter 6 cylinder.
There you are as requested. Thank you for using FixYa.

Car starts and then dies
This is the security system in the car it is suppose to read a chip in the key but, the system stops working properly. If you look at your dash board lights when you just turn the car on with out turning on the engine, they are probably not on. you have to wait until these lights turn on before you can start the vehicles engine. this could take anywhere from 5 to 20 min. its ridiculous. it happened to my car too, and it is usually when its cold outside. it costs like $600 for them to fix it too and you have to take it to a GMC dealership.
Brakes lights don't shut off
hi this could be the switch under the dash stuck in, locate the top of the brake peddle, on the top of it ( under the dash ) there should be a switch with 2 wires, remove the switch and test the plunger or the micro switch ( depends on what modle you have) normally its just a bit dirty, but sometimes its just u/s and needs replacing if its just dirty, a squirt of wd40 or a verry lght oil will normally free it...hope this helps
