Why wont my car fire

Hi Wendy, I'm glad to help. If you have the 2.5 liter engine that year has a problem with the Distributor going bad. I'm not sure which engine you have, but if in fact it is the 2.5 liter ave yourself some time and go to the parts store and get a distributor. CAUTION: When installing the distributor on the engine take care not to break the coil tower that sticks up out of the distributor because if you break it the car will not start. Wendy, if you have a different engine disregard this information. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Wendy!

My 1999 Dogde Stratus 2.4 cyl. keeps blowing the fuse that makes the car start. Replacing the fuse is becming costly and is annoying. What might be the reason this is happening?

if you can get to a parts store have them test the amperage drain of the starter while cranking..if its too high.. replace it..after a while the starter brushes get worn to the point where they cover more armature conacts than they should and will draw up to double what is normal for that car.. also if its not mounted right it will drag.. using way more power to work..see what happens and repost findings..otherwise you may need a hevy circiut breaker in place of that fuse..be aware of any smoking wires and potential fire hazard..

Passenger side brake light out

If the fuse is alright (brake and running lights) and the left side brake light works I would suspect a bad ground or socket. You could use a test light to check if you have power to the bulb. Do this while the brake pedal is depressed. First remove the bulb in question ( look at the left lens a note position of brake light) just mirror the position. With bulb removed ground one end of the test light to a bare metal body part or ground wire. Use the needle end to test the exposed contacts. You will see then once you remove the bulb. One contact is battery + and the other is the ground. While the one lead is properly grounded if the probe touches the contact and the light 'lights' that means its getting power. If either of the contacts fails to light the test light you have a fuse or wire problem. Through steps like above you can also check the ground by hooking the probe back wards. Connect the clip to the Bat. + and probe the other contact to make sure the ground is working.

Rough shifting

I'm assuming your gearbox is an auto. How long has it been since your gearbox has been serviced? Regular servicing intervals are a must.
