My daughters car wouldn't start & I found the 20-amp starter/ignition fuse to be blown. I replaced it, cranked the car a few times...then, on the 3rd time...it blew the fuse. I went through this replacing the fuse process a few times...then, jiggled a few wires & it remained running for a week or two. Today, it is doing the same thing. Replacing the fuse allows it to crank. What's up? I'm her mother...not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination..so, I really need some help here...thanks...Now...her tail lights are out too...

heats up for about 2 min then cold
A heater blowing cold air can be a few things. have all of these things check for proper operation to find the source of the problem.
1. Coolant level
2. Thermostat
3. Water Pump
4. Heater control valve
5. Make sure that the heater control doors are closing when you switch from hot to cold.
6.Last but not least if the climatic controls are electric it maybe at fault.

ONE OF MY FUSES KEEP BLOWING AND CAUSING MY CAR TO CUT OFF WHILE IM DRIVING AND NOT CRANK BACK UP UNTIL I CHANGE THE FUSE AND SOMTIMES WHEN I CHANGE IT AND TRY TO CRANK BACK UP IT BLOWS RIGHT BACK OUT.ITS THE FUSE UNDER THE HOOD THAT GOES TO MY STARTER, IGNITION, AND FUEL PUMP.IVE HAD A NEW FEUL PUMP PUT ON AND ITS STRILL DOING IT.WHATS THE PROBLEM?
you need a new starter I just went through this problem had my starter changed and have not blown any fuses in days....oh and by the way getting to the starter was not and easy task.

My car is making a loud noise from the front end and vibrates when you accelerate. When i turn the wheel to the left it squeals and sometimes there is a clunking noise. Could this be a ball joint? I have replaced 3 out of the 4 wheel bearings already and the one that wasn't changed was a back one. The noise is coming from the front end. Got any ideas for me? Thanks....Becky
You may have a cv joint about to fall out.To repair this ,the whole axle will have to be replaced.Axle is about 59.00 at NAPA auto parts.But do check the play in the wheeel,jack the car up one one side in the front and then the other.Check the wheel,by hand grab the wheel on top,and the bottom,and see if you can move the wheel in or out,up,or down.Then check the wheel by doing the same thing,side ways.Grab the wheel(tire) on each side,and move it in,and out up,and down,and move it like the wheel is turning,to the right,and to the left.Do this all with the steering wheel locked straight.If there is any movement,look at where the give is in the steering parts,and ball joints,and bearing.Do this while moving the wheels.Then do the other side the same way.I hope this was helpful,please let me know.

my car makes a loud rumbling noise when i accelerate and gets louder as i go faster, if i turn my wheel slightly to the left all the noise and vibration stops and it sounds normal again
I believe the bearings in the front wheel are about to come to the end.
Have it checked in a garage.... NOW! otherwise you will be driving on 3 wheels... sooon.

the horn in my 1999 dodge stratus honks for no reason. How do I unhook my horn?
the reason it is doing that is either the pad on the steering wheel is shorting as if you are pressing on it, or the clockspring under the steering wheel is shorting to ground. there is a horn relay in your fusebox inside the cabin; you could disable it there by pulling out the relay. don't pull the fuse because it carries other circuits as well. I couldn't find the exact relay position, but just feel them with your finger while someone honks the horn; the one that's clicking with the horn activation is the one to pull out. I can get you the layout of the fusebox but you really don't need it for that.

i checked to see if the bulbs worked, they did. i checked the fuses, they were fine. yet, my fog lights still won't work. i bought the car used and i'm trying to fix it up. i would appreciate any help offered.
Ryan, Does the fog light indicator on dash light up when you pull out the fog lamp switch? Also, Are you aware the fog lights won't work when high beam is on?
