There is no dip stick on this car, most of the newer Volkswagen did not come with one, the way to check the level is car will need to be on a car lift and level, engine at operating temp. then run through the gears and back to park, apply parking brake and raise car, on the transmission pan there will be a plug, remove the plug and if fluid drips out it is full if not then you must add, note ; make sure to use correct fluid.i would get fluid from dealer!.I will enclose a picture of the transmission pan to show you how it works, there is a tube in the pan, when you remove the plug on the bottom of the pan it has a tube that sticks up and fluid flows all around it , the top of the tube is the correct level, so any fluid higher than tube will flow out. you want a small slow stream or dribble to come out. if no fluid flows out then you will add, to add i have enclosed a picture of the fill location, remove the cap and add slowly until it starts to flow out the bottom, do not put plug in until flow is slow or dripping, if you add a quart then run through gears again, and add more if needed,You can try to do this on the ground, just make sure car is level and warmed up and you run through all gears, so to recap, warm engine and then go from park and go through all gears with shifter then back to park and leave engine running with e brake on and remove plug and add as needed until slow stream then install plug on pan and cap on the filler. hope this is helpful good day.
