Where is the transmission dipstick located in a 2005 VW Jetta

There is no dip stick on this car, most of the newer Volkswagen did not come with one, the way to check the level is car will need to be on a car lift and level, engine at operating temp. then run through the gears and back to park, apply parking brake and raise car, on the transmission pan there will be a plug, remove the plug and if fluid drips out it is full if not then you must add, note ; make sure to use correct fluid.i would get fluid from dealer!.I will enclose a picture of the transmission pan to show you how it works, there is a tube in the pan, when you remove the plug on the bottom of the pan it has a tube that sticks up and fluid flows all around it , the top of the tube is the correct level, so any fluid higher than tube will flow out. you want a small slow stream or dribble to come out. if no fluid flows out then you will add, to add i have enclosed a picture of the fill location, remove the cap and add slowly until it starts to flow out the bottom, do not put plug in until flow is slow or dripping, if you add a quart then run through gears again, and add more if needed,You can try to do this on the ground, just make sure car is level and warmed up and you run through all gears, so to recap, warm engine and then go from park and go through all gears with shifter then back to park and leave engine running with e brake on and remove plug and add as needed until slow stream then install plug on pan and cap on the filler. hope this is helpful good day.5_18_2012_4_24_04_pm.png5_18_2012_4_24_12_pm.png

My 2005 VW jetta is over heating when idleing or at low speeds with the ac on.

check your raditor fluid it might be low that its not keeping engine cool? maybe a coolent flush and change would help if there is blockage. they have radiator flush kits at auto parts stores

2000 vw jetta. driver's side door lock switch will unlock door, but not lock it. passenger side locks all doors properly

Your probably correct in that the drivers side door toggle is broken. Check a junk yard to get this piece cheaply. A Volkswagen dealer will be very expensive. Call around and give them the year, model and make of your vehicle to find a used part.

My abs warning light as

had the same problem on the same year car, i assume by not functioning you mean that the orange lights are on. For me it was a broken sensor on the driver side hub ($9.50 at IPAexperts.com), to find out which one just start unplugging them (if your flexible you don't even need to take the tire off) 1 bad sensor = ABS and ESP lights, 2 bad sensors = ABS, ESP and a flashing emergency brake light. so if you unplug one and nothing changes on the dash then that's the bad one ;-) simple.

I have a warning light

Maybe. did you check the oil, coolant level. automatic transmission fluid? The check engine light will come when your vehicle needs a major service; such as, Now, this an example, OK. Like change coolant, change the automatic transmission fluid, or change differential fluid, or it just needed 3 month, 6 months, 12 months service check up at the dealship. It could tell you even to rotate the tires.

When the check engine light comes on. you vehicle needs some type of preventive maintenance done to this Volkswagen Jetta. You need to get it check out and have them reset the check engine light. GB...stewbison

IS THERE A EMERGENCY FUEL

Most fuel systems have an automatic fuel cut off in case of an accident. A sudden jarring of the vehicle may make the fuel cut out.
The cut out is usually in the spare wheel well.
Hope this helps.
