GMC Sonoma 1997 4x4 starts itself with no key and no one in truck why?
My guess is that whether you know it or not, apparently your truck has a remote starter system. Those systems will start your car and run it until you insert the key and turn it to run. Usually there is a limit to how long the car will run on the remote start but some systems may not have that feature. If you have the key fob that starts it, you might have a battery going dead or some kind of interference activating it. I have left the obvious unsaid, (you might be hitting the button while it's in your pocket). If you have no fob... perhaps a neighbor has the same frequency on their starter, or you have a demon possessed truck and are in need of an exorcist. :-)

Codep2279
check vacuum lines, start with the pcv valve. sounds like it has a vacuum leak, and that could cause numerous codes to come up. find the leak then reset the ck engine codes first before replacing anything.
