i took the climate control unit out and using a pencil soldering unit re-soldered all connections to the display unit and it seemed to do the trick.

use a test light and check for power to switches ( incoming and outgoing ) if good then go to motor that controls the up dn and check for power there. of course if switch is good the motor bad and vise versa.
