Immobilizer light on
Then either the transponder key is defective or the system has a defective sensor such as a door ajar sensor.
Coolant ran out of the bottom of the car. Nechanic found hose leak. Car is running rough while sitting. Could it be a Gasket?
if you haven't had any coolant in your car for a week and you have been driving it you may have blown your head gasket, even though you haven't got 'milkey goo' on your oil dip stick. check for goo under your oil cap to see and have it tested at a garage. but from what ive read im almost certain its your head gasket. hope this helps you and beware of the dangers of a running engine so keep hands and loose clothing out of the way of moving parts and engines get very hot so be careful what you touch.

Adjusting bi-xenon headlights on Volvo S40
This guys don't know what they are talking about. If you have self leveling head lights and they are way out of alignment, yes there is adjustment screws but those mess with a different light bulb (daytime running light) instead of the main bulb alignment. So what is a man to do? go to the dealer and have them adjust them for you. Believe it or not everytime you get an aliment done you have to recalibrate your headlights because they change the way the vehicle sits. Do it enough times and the headlight will go out of wack (because of the self leveling function)In other words, they headlights are adjusted by means of a Computer. You could do it your self but you have to buy the DICE VIDA adjustment tool and the proper software from Volvo. Not cheap, just go to the dealership.
Volvo s40 wont start after cylindern head overal
sounds like there is a sensor not plugged in or has a blown fuse or something simple.. hope the timing was correct or you will be doing that cylinder head all over again as it will have bent all the valves in the head and that has caused your no start... do you have compression in the cylinders?

How do i change the pcv valve on my 2004 volvo s40? and where is it located?
location:
Its a flame trap it separates the oil from aireplacement:1Turn the Volvo 850 off and allow the engine and its components to cool for 30 minutes.
2Open the hood of the Volvo 850 by pressing the hood release button within the vehicle. Locate the PCV valve; the valve is identified as a small rubber valve located on the engine crankcase. You will also notice a small hose sticking out of the end of the valve. If needed, read the Volvo 850 owner's manual for more information.
Disconnect the hose from the valve by pulling the hose out of the valve. The hose will come off the valve with minimal force.
4Turn on the engine of the Volvo 850. Place your finger over the hole in the valve where the hose was connected. If you feel a strong suction, the valve is working properly and fine. If you do not feel a strong suction, the valve may be clogged and needs replacing.
5Turn off the engine of the Volvo 850. Use needle-nose pliers and grip the valve. Pull the valve off of the crankcase.
6Install a new valve by putting the valve in place on the crankcase. Insert the hose into the new PCV valve. Secure the new valve in place by pushing it down until it locks into place. Close the hood of the Volvo; pull up on the hood to ensure the hood is shut properly.
