We have a Viking VIPR101 30" downdraft ventilator. We've learned that the ON-OFF switch on the side of the ventilator can overheat and burn out when it is held down continuously (poor design). Best to push and quickly release it. First time we had the switch professionally replaced--it's modular and very simple to swap out. Next time we fixed it ourselves with switch part # PV300182 from allvikingparts.com. They had replacement guidance on-line. Hope this is useful.

This can be cause dby one of 2 problems.

When you turn the control to turn the Griddle on, does it come immediately or do you have to turn it a long way before it comes on?

If it turns on immediatly then it is more than likely the Ignitor

If you have to turn it a long way you have a defective Thermostat

Clean the burners

from the counter top or the metal cabinet its in

I recommend to buy a new one, induction cooktop prices have come down a lot and there are good ones available for about $1000. FOr me, the only problem with putting a new one in was the hole in the countertop was too small for the new cooktop (Viking has a smaller hole requirement than most other cooktops). So be sure to measure the hole in the countertop before you buy a new one so you can buy one that fits.

See if it light with a match , if it dose change the striker on the stove.

The circuit board that generates the spark is intermittent. Look at replacing it.

Hi, I need production date to confirm but the part I found for this is PA020048 and it located in the rear of the unit If you pull out this unit, remove the rear panel, its located on the left side, mid way down.
