Viking professional 30 inch, sparking problem

If you have replaced the spark module with the new, blue PA020041 Tytronics 0+4 spark module, the physical positions of the leads that go to the burner igniters are reversed compared to the positions on the old, white module. Make sure that the switch wire for the burner and the position of the spark wire both go to the same burner! The positions are marked on the white label with green lettering.

HI,
SAFETY FIRST, Have the unit checked for issues, it not worth the home over a leak. Unless you know about this unit, have your gas company inspect for leaks and supply issues. If you leak is a connection issue, they will advise how to repair, if internal, it should be check right away or prior to using again.
I had seen a simple loose connection cause a lot of damage.
Please be safety, I would be glad to assist you further if needed. I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gere_bf68e6055dd61249

We just bought a house

Hi esgt,

The Ignitor switches have either gotten stuck, maybe being dirty or wet, or the ignitor switches are faulty and need replacing.

The switches are under the burners where you have the gas pipes and valves you will only see one electrical part, that is the ignitor switch. This plastic box has one input (for power) the rest attached to other burners. Check if the wire going to the problematic burner is loose, off, dirty, wet or cut. Repair or replace accordingly.
I'd suggest looking at the wire from the one burner that is working correctly, that leads to the problematic burners - The problem would likely be there.

Hope this helps :-)

One burner will not light other burner clicks

Under the burners where you have the gas pipes and valves
you have only one electrical part the ignite spark module. This plastic box has
one input the power wire and for outputs one for each burner. Now you can check
if the wire going to the problematic burner is loose or cut out and fix it. If
all wires look ok then the Spark device is bad and need a new one.

I have a Viking cooktop with a fan that rises when...

I just finished researching the same issue for my 36" downdraft. It appears that the ost common problem is the little up/down switch.

Most folks on-line were being told that they had to buy the whole top unit for $500.00 plus labor. But an electrical engineerpointed out that allvikingparts.com sold a switch for about $60.00 delivered.

It seems that if one holds the switch for an extended period of time it can heat up and burn a connector - might be a coincidence, but my unit stopped working just after my 4 year old grandson visited for two weeks - I made the mistake of showing him how pushing the button would make the vent go up and down. So the switch probably got mre use in a week than it had in the eight years since it was installed.

You can simply peel your switch off with your finger nail ( it will stick right back). On mine I noticed that the center "wire" hade a dark line through it which probably indicates that it is "burned"

My part is on the way.

Hope this helps - $57.00 is much easier to swallow than $595.00

Grease-encrusted cast iron trivets

Try soaking in hot soapy water that you've dropped several denture cleaning tablets in. That's helped me get some tough stuff off, or at least loosened up enough that some elbow grease and a scrubbie can finish off the job.

Put them in the oven and run the self clean cycle

Oven cleaner. That stuff is second only to industrial grade hydrogen peroxide

Batender's Friend. That stuff is amazing!

Good Luck
