Hi Carmen- I am experiencing the same issue with my 2 DIgilux 1 camera, after a long time of not using them. In fact, One of them had a broken lens motor for the longest time and that seems to have fixed itself. I have 2 new batteries on order to see if thtat resolves.

If what you are saying is that the camera will only fire on B and 1/100 with a good battery there is a problem with the shutter. Clean battery contacts in the battery compartment and polish both ends of the battery to improve current flow, and try another battery, if you still get a problem you may need service,

Is there film in the camera, if so rewind the film and then test the empty camera, if your problem persists, service the camera.

Why do you think your camera does not work? What have you seen (or not seen while expecting)? Did you recharge the battery? Is everything with your camera the same as it was the last time you used it?

Not 100 percent on a unit that old. All recent Leica equipment can only be upgraded at an authorized factory service center. That service center has to have a "dongle bit" plugged in to their computer that gives them access to software needed to update firmware.
