How do I learn to use the Leica M24 camera?

I think you mean a Leica M240. Actually it is a professional camera. The best you can do is chose the single shot mode and put the shutter speed to automatic, to start. There are so many settings in this camera, it would take days to explain, if you already had some experience with another camera. Like what ISO, why to work with a aperture or speed setting. I can tell you, I'm an amateur for almost 50 years now, and I'm still learning. My latest camera I own now 3 years and still I don't use it to the full extend. But everyone can see the quality of the pictures are getting better over time, because I learn what settings are the best in a certain situation. Read the manual, special the one about the settings, to get used to the knobs and buttons on the camera. Also read the part of the viewfinder, because you have to come familiar with what you see there. I wish you lots of fun with this beautiful camera. Just one advice: There are no bad pictures, just missed chances to take one.

Televid 77 zoom eyepiece is loose.

This is a VERY expensive spotting telescope. I would contact the folks at Company 7, and see if you can return the scope for professional repairs.

Do we need to periodically calibrate the

Depends on the microscope. Generally, with most simple microscopes that are used often, calibration (aligning of the prisms, objectives and eyepieces) shouldn't be required more than once every 5 years or so.

I cannot get my photos to download to my new laptop via the cable. I was use to placing memory card in photo/copy machime. My manual mentions a [pc] connection by default in the set up. must i go int

For every camera, or memory card reader, you should install some software. When you use a memory card reader, most of the time the modern operating systems od have drivers at hand, but if you are still using an older operating system (like XP or older) you have to do the instal of the driver yourself. Most of the time the software is delivered with a memory card reader, and it is always deliver with a camera. Some photo editing software can download direct from a camera, that is when the correct drives are available. Check the box where your camera came in, if you still have the CD with the camera software. Sometimes you have 2 CD's, one with the Manual. (PDF) and one with the software.
