My diesel kipor 5kva generator wont shut by key ,
Caution
the manufacture is recommending a cool down period of about 3 minutes to prevent overheating of the combustion chamber. the following is from the manufacture on shut down procedure.
3.2.8Check Stopping of Generating Set
(1)Disconnect the load from the generating set.
(2)Turn off the air switch of the generating set.
(3)Set the speed lever at RUN position, run the generating set without load for about 3 minutes. Do not stop the engine suddenly, otherwise the temperature will increase abnormally, the nozzle will blocked and the generating set will be damaged.
Press down the stop lever. Concerning the electric starter, turn the key to OFF. Turn the fuel **** lever to S position.
Pull out the recoil starter handle until you feel resistance (at this position, both intake/exhaust valve are closed.) and leave the handle in this position. This prevents the engine from rust.
If the engine keep on running even after the speed lever is placed at the STOP position, either turn the fuel **** to the CLOSE position or loosen the nut of high pressure fuel pipe on the pump side to stop the engine.
Do not stop the engine with the decompression lever.
Do not stop the generating set with load. Stop it after the load removed.

Wiring rectifier correctly?
You are discussing a bridge rectifier, the + connector is directly opposite the negative connector, the remaining two connection points are the AC side of the rectifier + AC
AC -
Power went out motor goes no volts why
If the fuses are good, your AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) may have failed or (less likely) you may have lost the residual magnetic field in your armature. With the generator off and your circuit breakers closed, plug in a corded 120V drill into one of the household 120V outlets on the generator. Spin the drill's chuck quickly, by hand, several times; This introduces a small electric current to your armature, "field flashing" the generator. Start the generator and check if the generator is now producing voltage. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. If no voltage, then it's likely your AVR has failed. You can purchase these online at ebay for about $35.00-$50.00. Buy a couple of them; these AVRs have a high rate of failure.
Why unit keeps shutting down after it starts.
Your question is general without specific details. Any one of many things will cause your generator engine to stop running.
Is this question about a Kipor KDE5000TA? If so, your generator is powered by a diesel engine. There are safety shut downs built into the generator to protect the generator head and engine. Do you have any fault codes showing on your control panel display screen? (Trouble codes P-01 through P-05 will be displayed if there's a detected fault)
If you have no fault codes, then you likely have a fuel problem. Do the obvious:
- Visually check the fuel level in your tank. DO NOT rely on your fuel gauge. It may be stuck or otherwise not working.
- If you have fuel, check your fuel filter. It may be clogged. If your fuel filter is good, you may have water contamination.
- Drain your tank and refill with fresh #2 diesel fuel. I use "Diesel 911" with a biocide to prevent water contamination and bacteria growth in my fuel.
- Make certain your fuel oil supply and return lines are clear, not leaking, and the fittings are tight.
I know I'm shotgunning, peppering the target. However, I don't have enough information to zero in on a specific area where the problem could be. Good luck!
Kipor IG3000 generator stepper motor bad?
I just experience the same issue. Mine was a broke wire at step motor. Now to find parts as I hv soldered the wire and works great... I'm sure the others will fail soon enough
