hmmm seems as if the LCD did take a heavy hit there and some connecting parts inside the LCD in the camera is damaged however this shouldnt affect how the camera performs but you can maybe still have the camera serviced at a best buy or other store that fixes cameras

A camera (or any electronic equipment) at ten years old is nearing the end of its useful life. Best to replace it with a newer updated model
